Gladiators!

 

As we gear up for the upcoming Arena Season, we're excited to start a series of Developer Diaries to give you a sneak peek at the much-anticipated changes! This time, we’ll be highlighting the new matchmaking system for select modes that is rolling out this Season – as well as some of the exciting new features that gladiators will enjoy in the near-future updates. 

 

Long ago, the sage gods Harad and Nuadu saw the need for a place in Arinar where conflicts could be resolved without endangering the world. So they created the Arena, a hallowed battleground for warriors from all over the realm to prove their mettle, bravery, and power. Ever since, the Arena has echoed with the clash of swords, the whistle of arrows, and the thunder of staves – a testament to the relentless pursuit of glory and greatness by the heroes of both Alliances... Though time hasn’t spared the legacy of the Gods, the Arena remains the stage for the most thrilling fights. Now it's time to breathe new life into this Temple of Battle!

 

Performance-Based Matchmaking

 

We’ve revamped the matchmaking system across several modes including Arena 5x5, Temple of Seals 4x4, and both Crucible 3x3 and 4x4. By integrating the new behind-the-scenes performance metrics, we want to make sure that your every contribution to victory is rated and rewarded!

 

The new performance rating system aims to improve team selection. Those of you who join each fight with a win-or-bust attitude will now have a better chance of joining a team that shares your spirit. After all, the most exciting battles are fought alongside fellow warriors who mean business!

 

Get ready to experience this feature in the upcoming XCIV Arena Season starting on March 22. Take this chance to prove your fervor!

 

 

Now, let's dive into some exciting changes coming to the Arena with the next updates!

 

Smoother Start for Rookies

 

The Arena has always been a magnet for aspiring gladiators eager to push their luck. Their road to glory is filled with trials, especially when crossing swords with veterans who guard their ranks fiercely. But fear not, as fresh faces will soon have their chance to gear up for an unpredictable fight!

 

Among other things, we seek to streamline the Arena experience for new players. We're in the process of creating a series of quests that will teach rookies the combat basics, equip them with starter PvP gear, and help them stock up on essential PvP consumables. These updates will make it much easier for fresh gladiators to prepare for their first fight!

What's more, new daily PvP quests tailored to the storyline progress will bolster both novice and seasoned fighters alike, offering the chance to earn heaps of valuable rewards. And as you level up, the challenges – and the loot – will get even better!

 

New Ranked Mode

 

A new chapter of glory is about to unfold in the hallowed Temple of Battle where gladiators fight tooth and nail for glory, adding another layer to the competitive spirit! Fighters will have to rise through many ranks to prove their worth as the best gladiators in Arinar!

 

On top of other changes, the Arena update introduces a much-awaited tiered ranked league system, designed to ensure fairer match selection based on your personal rating! Win to climb the ranks and watch your rating soar, or face the slide with each defeat. Each league ascended will bring greater rewards and recognition!

 

Refreshed Categories & Modes

 

This global update is also fine-tuning existing categories and modes for a sharper, more engaging experience! We’re recalibrating the fight formats to make the action more dynamic and the competition more exciting.

 

In this entry, we’ve given you a sneak peek at the upcoming Arena’s transformation. Keep in mind, this changelog isn't set in stone – we've got a bunch of new features in the pipeline that you'll be the first to learn about!

Current 3x3 random arena has some troubles at partymaking, for example, if Player X wins 90% of every arena, despite if it is Sentinels against Legion, or at all vs anyone, Player X good win rate prevents from getting to arena battle (sometimes even from 20 minutes to 30 minutes, while other players such these annoying Players Y and Z get inside of arena in 1 minute just because their win rate is 50/50 due them doing win - lose with their other guild mates while Player X is stuck to get in due his good win rate)

 

I know this applies on 2x2 as well, if we do full win against a lose party. But this system, well in my opinion it should be improved, not really cool that others aiming to lose quick inside arenas and keep demand after die while other who wins is stuck demanding due their good win rate, while the goal should be to win the battles for victory,(right?)

Do u know that in many or most of the servers there are enough ppl dmd for only 1 team in arena, how that performance rating system will work when only 6 ppl from each side dmd for 5x5? It will be the same as now anyway right? Or what if at 2x2 dmd 4 weak ppl and 2 op players, they wont have a chance to meet so in the end that op players wont get into arena at all? Do u know that after 2 weeks when 2x imps end most arenas are semidead? How that performance rating system will work when there is enough ppl just for 1 arena? Also is there a chance in the future for cross server arena? That performance rating system would work so good but on cross server arena where have plenty of ppl who dmd.

New diaries come with each arena season? 

 

Is there any chance for cross server arena in the future? Arenas at test server are always best fun bcs of so many different ppl doing arenas there and its most active. New ranked mode with cross server arena and that performance rating system would be best thing ever that can happen to arena.

2x2 is a cheat mode category though . Lvl 28 party lvl 31 and demand arena and they will never meet lvl 31 + lvl 34 player who are in party . But the player who party 31 his ap will keep going up . It's not a fight mode spam but a hide mode spam . 

No idea if they will ever fix that like lvl 31 to lvl 34 only can party n demand higher or same and demand ( watever lvls are given in the category only those party together ) 

 

Will this ever be changed in the future  @Dr Strange

I am really looking forward to this change! As a semi new player with a lv 24 it is sometimes really hard to get my Arena damage or win mission in the battlepass done because i get oneshot by veteran players geared for this purpose. I would love to see the help to gear up for new players as i find that also very hard to do concidering how little u get when u loose and how rarely u win (mostly when your random teammate can 1v2, 2v3, 4v5 etc.)

Can you make barbs Last Wish skill cd reset every other match? Humble request  :Snorlax: It's not fair when we are handicapped...

Equipment of greatness cause unfair fight against those who is yet to obtain arena gears. Hope this issue will be solved.

Nah. I think removing buffs that don't come from player skills would make arena much better than all of this changes combined.

Tbh arenas should be global between all servers.

- this bring more ppl to arenas 

- give more chances to beginners to meet other beginners and build easy their gears

- avoid the issue of waiting 10 - 20 min to join a fight , aswell of wasting glad pots of 1h just to join 2 - 3 matchs

- avoid Specific blocks by enemy players (sniping) as well as afk people on purpose

in my opinion  this won't change a thing arenas became bad by adding arena stats ( ferocity and resilience ) that are just too broken almost as broken as vampirism

we are talking about warspear bruh. they might even add  another arena ticket with higher price.  Dont be surprise if that happens xd

Why waste time making that when you already have a arena ticket?

I had one dream and idea since long time ago that if there was one category for just "free tickets" that are separate ones from other category, that they could use just x limit of tickets and rating would be based on wins, well, the reward might be little problematic if many got same points but it could be few tons of imperials shared win if so, as well battle time could be challenging or it could be announced and fixed hours like on gvg, either way, I made jokes about pink troll and 200% xp pots since years ago and one day they came, including imperials shop, well, seems Arinar walls have ears of Elf for me:duc1ky:

I don't want lose my money to show other rich guy that have everything . 

 Biggest problem is arena ticis (slove this sh it )this is real problem slove this 1. Then go for other sh it gl :crazy:

can we at least get option to convert arena points in to imperials so normal people can buy greatness items instead of just having p2w people wearing them since imo its one of biggest bull **** even for people that spam arenas

Without addressing that, this sneak peak provides nothing promising.

 

Ideas to drive up arena activity:

  • Make fighting in the arena free, i.e. remove tickets. But matches would give only rating points.
  • Remove "demand all modes" button.
  • Purchasable items "(Great) Gladiator Elixir" with increased prices will increase the rating points by a specified percentage and additionally give arena points in the value of 100%-150% of rating points.
  • Rating points count towards rankings, technically you should be able to climb to the top league ranks for free! Well, time and probably a whole lot of top-tier buffs make it not so free...
  • Depending on how players spread in the new leagues, top 50% or so of active players ranks will also get a chunk of arena points at the end of the season. Could be a certain % of the rating points, depending on their league.

Arena points/shop:

  • Arena shop items that are more frequently updated with items that are relevant not only for arena but also for mass fights, items such as anti-control foods or anti-resistance buffs for example, or special minions with AoE effects. As far as I know, most if not all AoE skills from minions were removed at one point, so they would be very expensive, but also unique. This is important for end-game players of the top guilds fighting in raid boss wars and such, it will keep arena relevant for them forever basically.
  • For newer players, get rid of the chests, add the costumes to be directly purchasable, and the books too but make them cost something crazy like 500k AP or something. People Like to work and grind towards a set-in-stone goal in MMOs... Add more books too, why not.
  • Rewards for new league rankings can be whatever but ideally, the top league would give seasonal buffs that contribute to mass battles.

Doing Arena for free is a good idea. But I don't think it's going to be easy to delete tickets right away as tickets are already out in the game and this is a cash-purchased item. It's even on sale today.
 

Or they can only ask for ticket for rank arena only.


Non-class books are a reward that will interest everyone, so I agree to add books for a price that is very expensive, but you can get it with effort. Instead, since it's a definitive reward, it's less capable than a regular rare book, and the arena is not a solo content, so it might be a book that only works if there's a party. Players who have empty rare book slots will be able to fill them with this.

 

Or.. these can also be added as compensation.

It would be fair that in arena were only allowed skills, books and no external buffs. Everyone one would have a chance, because some full buffs are invincible, grinding castles buffs and heal pots. No external buffs no buffs in general) for arenas leave that stuff for events and the open world, and for the guys who connect afks please just implement some ban system or something.
