There's some different types of love some people never understand each others ideas about it but for me it has happened a lot. Because i actually talk to them about life not only our virtual identites. But the hard part is sometimes you can never know people are who they say they are in games or in real life no matter what. Best advice i could ever give you is watch out for people who talk a lot about objects/money

you could use "community managers" to communicate then forward the responces to admins like yourself, using azebus idea

I assumed you do have some GM-like privlieges in-game, which lets you materialize rewards, which then you'd give the CMs, who then would use them as prizes. Maybe create a new currency that will be obtainable only through community events, and they can be traded for various fun stuff like food, potions, exclusive costumes, maybe signs.
If you don't have any privileges then you should talk to your higher-ups, about a community event once a week with modest rewards (so you aren't giving free money, only making people interested in the game).
 
I imagine it's hard to stay involved with community when 90% of it are crybabies who spam you with personal requests whenever you show up somewhere, but this is a cross that developers have to bear.

Yeah i know what you meant, but the point of my whole post was to show you, that basically AoA is idle, until competition comes. Soon as perfectelf passed them in pass tournament, bam 100k+ gp in few hours, since most of the people in other guilds gave up on trying for #1, they dont even try to stay on top, coz they know they WILL be on top. So i don't think anyone ''stronger'' than AoA, but it's not even about being strong, its about the resources you use, and Hassn has unlimited resources. 
Hassn formula is something like this (n+1), with n being any ''normal'' player who spends a reasonable amount of coins. So Hassn can always get more than others if theres a need, thats why i dont doubt if Nuclear was on same server, they wouldnt be #1.
Those are just facts, not idolizing or hating on Hassn or AoA. If theres anyone to hate its the devs for allowing tournaments to be this way.
