1. Introduction
Would you like a class that can do anything? Would you like to one shot the 50k hp dummy? Would you like to sit back and watch while someone else does all the work for you? If you said yes to any of these questions, Beastmaster is the class for you.
Beastmaster is a unique class the revolves around their Moon Monster to deal damage. Depending on the build, bm can do single target damage, aoe damage or even be a healer. Bm excels when played in a group with other players, but it can be used for solo play also. In PvE, Beastmasters with right build can compete with Blade Dancers and Rangers in damage. In PvP, bm is currently on the stronger side, but it has some weaknesses. Beastmaster is a very easy class to level up since you are basically always doing quests duo with your summon. Beastmasters can be roughly divided to physical and magical builds, and in this guide I will be covering both.
(For clarity, in this guide I will refer to Beastmaster as bm and the Moon Monster as cat. Other abbreviations: PvE = Player versus Environment, PvP = Player versus Player, AoE = Area of effect)
2. Tips for new Beastmasters
General
Your cat gets damage from both physical AND magical damage. Not just the higher stat. This is why I don't recommend using a staff. Use a spear or a two-handed hammer. There are some instances where staff might be better, but not many. Skills don't get higher range when used with a staff. Both spear and hammer are viable options, and they can be both used for leveling. Only at later levels will it become challenging to keep your cat alive on spear builds. (Ayvondil t3 and later) Magic build is easier to use in arena and more effective at lower amplification levels, keep that in mind when choosing which build you want to use. There are 2 skill sets, you can use both weapons and mess with different builds at the same time. You can play bm as kind of a ranged class. Send your cat to deal damage and sit back yourself. More useful in PvP but has uses in PvE also. Leveling
More of a general tip, don't buy new gear on every level. You will fine with the same gears for a long time. Use magic accessories while leveling up since they are much cheaper and still benefit you in any build. Talents/buffs
Start working towards the key class talents first. Other skill talents won't have as big of an impact as the key talents do. After that, get the 2nd skill point. Any skill or buff that says increases skill damage or characters damage, doesn't increase cat's damage or aura damage if it's applied to cat. For example, these don't increase cat's damage: There is one exception which is the cloth merman skill Crushing Will which increases critical damage that cat does.
3. Skills and strategies for combat
3.1 Skills and relics
Basic skills
Moon Touch
Your basic damage skill that deals magical damage. Deals a debuff to the enemy that increases your cat's damage. Also increases damage done by Aura of the Forest, if it is on cat. Can be used in physical damage builds to increase cat's damage to bosses. Keep in mind that other bm with lvl1 Moon Touch can make this effect useless since they don't stack. Best relics to use: PvE You could use Great Relic of Inaccessibility to increase the range to 5 yards. Especially useful on physical builds since the skill doesn't do much damage anyway. PvP
Beast Awakening
Summons a cat to fight with you. Cat inherits stats from the player so you should keep that in mind when building your character. List of inherited parameters in spoiler. Cat's damage depends on physical AND magical damage. For maximum damage, you want both stats high as possible. Cat doesn't get hp from % buffs such as craft armors. If you want high hp for your cat, use gear and buffs with base hp. Best relics to use: PvE and PvP Since the skill is permanent skill it doesn't really matter which relics you use. Just make sure you have Great Relic of Energy Stability.
Order to Attack
Skill used to control your cat. Increases the damage from the first hit to the target. Best relics to use: PvE Use either Relic Of Magical Might or Relic of Physical Might depending on your build. PvP
Healing
Heals your cat or yourself, if your cat is taking a nap. Lifeforce potion doesn't increase the healing on your cat. Exceptional Healing castle buff does increase the healing on your cat and yourself. Best relics to use: PvE PvP
Chain Lightning
The only stun bm has. Duration at 5/5 with Chain Lightning + talent is 5.5 seconds, one of the longest stuns in the game. Resonance talent makes this skill kind of an aoe stun skill, although there is only 50% chance that the additional targets will get stunned and the stun duration decreases with every target. Also one of your main damage skills. Best relics to use: PvE and PvP You can add the effect from Terrible Relic of Sickness to each target you hit. If the skill misses even one target, the Relic of Accuracy will trigger
Expert skills
Bestial Rampage
Increases your cat's damage and heals yourself whenever cat deals damage. The skill description can be a bit misleading. It says that it increases physical strength. Cat always does physical damage, so it is useful skill even on magical builds. Combos well with Aura of the forest. Any damage done by that will also heal you. Lifeforce potion and Exceptional Healing castle buff increase the healing received from dealt damage.
Soul Connection
Gives you damage reduction depending on your cat's health. Maximum damage reduction if your cat is full hp is 35%. Also heals you whenever cat's hp is healed 10% of its maximum. Lifeforce potion and Exceptional Healing castle buff increase the healing.
Forest Symbol
Places a plant that roots enemies to the ground. Has talent that increases the root duration by 1 second. Good skill in small scale pvp. If you ever use this skill, use it at 3/4 if you have the talent. The root lasts for 5.5 seconds on enemy and the enemy will get rooted again after 0.5 seconds.
Also has some fun interactions if the enemy has Resistance buffs. If the root lasts under 3 seconds, they will get rooted again almost immediately. The same thing happens if enemy tries to use Purification potion to get rid of it.
Double Concentration
Increases your skill cooldown speed and critical damage. Increases your skill cooldown speed if your cat is not alive. These two buffs stack, meaning that you can get skill cooldown twice. If your cat ever dies you should use this skill to boost your cooldown to get your cat back faster.
Moonlight
Adds a debuff to enemy that deals magical damage and decreases their movement speed. Attacks from your cat will refresh the duration meaning that one stack will last forever as long as your cat is hitting the target. One target can only have 2 stacks at most.
Aura of the Forest
Bm's aoe damage skill. Has Power of Nature talent that will increase the damage of the skill.
Blessing of the Moon
Increases critical hit chance and penetration. Has Full moon talent that basically doubles the effect of this skill. At 4/4 when you use this skill on yourself, your cat will get 32% critical hit chance and 16% penetration.
Return to the Roots
Calls your cat back to you and removes some debuffs. Resets your cat's aggression points to 1. Means that you will take aggro and start tanking in PvE. You (or anyone else) can't apply any skills on cat while it's returning. Don't use skills like Bestial Rampage while it's returning, they will go to cooldown but the effect won't be applied. If used without cat will cleanse debuff(s) and give you a small speed boost If your cat is under any controlling effect this skill won't do anything. Make sure you have detailed group widgets turned on to see if your cat is stunned. Has Reunion talent that will teleport you to the cat while giving your cat resistance for some time. Removes some debuffs from yourself instantly. The talent has no distance limit so you can teleport the whole map.
Proximity to Nature aka tree.
Aoe heal skill that also makes you invulnerable to any damage. Lifeforce potion doesn't increase the healing on your cat but it increases healing on yourself. Exceptional Healing castle buff does increase the healing on every target. Increases the defence of any target you healed. Heals maximum 9 targets at maximum level in 7x7 area around the character. If one of the targets gets to full hp you will start healing another target. Meaning you can technically heal and give defence buff to more than 9 players. Will always heal your cat, no matter how far it is.
Complete list of skill and talent information/statistics can be found here:
3.2 Skill builds for leveling and first expert skill's
I get asked this a lot. Which skills to level up first and which expert skills to buy. Start by leveling up cat to the maximum. No matter what build you will later on use, this should always be maxed. After your cat is lvl5 you should either level up Healing or Chain Lightning. Chain Lightning does high damage on both physical and magical builds and is very helpful when clearing many monsters. As you level you might feel like you don't really need to heal your cat that much but later in the game it will be a task to keep your cat alive. I recommend leveling it to at least lvl3. This is what your skills would look like at lvl18.
5/5
5/5 or 3/5
3/5 or 5/5
When you get to lvl18 you can buy and use expert skills. The first expert skill to buy no matter which build you are using is Bestial Rampage. This skill helps you clear monsters faster and also heals you, so you don't need to stop to heal yourself. After that, I recommend buying Double Concentration. It gives you a lot of skill cooldown speed as well as critical hit damage. Extra cc helps to use your Bestial Rampage more often, thus giving you more damage and more healing. Now you need to make a decision, to focus on physical or magical damage. If you go for magical build, you should get Aura of the Forest. Aura of the forest combos incredibly well with Rampage. Since the aura is applied to your cat, any damage done by it while rampage is active will also heal you. You become almost immortal while these two skills are on in PvE. For physical build I would use Blessing of the Moon. Increases your cats overall damage by a good amount.
After these it doesn't really matter in which order you buy skills, but if I were to put them in order it would be this
At level 32 your skill build would look like this for PvE. Note that you can get 2 more skill points from talents.

I personally used magical build while I was leveling up. I didn't have any troubles with questing apart from a few bosses. Even underwater territory in Ayvondil was a breeze.

High aoe damage with Aura of the Forest and Chain Lightning. Your cat will be tanking so you do not need to worry about it. If you don't have enough healing to keep cat alive' try the next build.
Healing build / Solo build

4/4
A little bit less damage than the previous build' but you will have a lot more healing. A very useful build in dungeons that require healing such as Castle dungeons. Useful build when soloing PvE content. Not enough points to max Rampage and Double Concentration so choose whether you want more damage on cat or more cooldown and crit dmg.
3.3.2 Physical PvE
A little bit of info for physical PvE builds to begin with. Most of the time you will not have enough healing to keep your cat alive. Which is why you will need to tank the damage yourself by doing more aggression points than your cat. This is easy most of the time since Return to the Roots resets cat's aggro points to 1. Just make sure cat is not under any controlling effect when you use it. You can also increase the aggression you generate with Potion of Anger, which can be crafter at castles. You don't need them for most things.

Very high damage but no healing whatsoever. Expect your cat to die a lot with this build. Has decent AoE damage despite being physical build. Cat's auto attacks will also deal AoE damage on every 5th attack.

The build that I personally use at the moment. The difference to the glass cannon build is that im using the passive skill for extra damage reduction. To get the most effect out of the skill your cat needs to be at full hp so you want at least 3/5 Healing. You can max healing and take points from Moon Touch/Chain Lightning. With this build I have soloed Mythical Sea Tramps and the Merman Sanctuary. I don't think its necessary to use the passive skill unless you are doing things like this.
Video to Myth sea in spoiler.

1v1 / Arena build

2/4
3/4
Build for 1v1s and small scale pvp. I've found that 3/4 tree is enough healing to heal yourself to full if you are using healing buffs. Rampage is useful to nuke healing classes. You could take some skill points from Healing and use them to max aura for more damage, but your cat will die much easier then.
GvG / Mass fight build

4/4
Same as previous PvP build but no Rampage this time. In mass battles your cat dies much more often so you do not want to waste points on skills that you can't use. Tree at 4/4 is a must since bm's on magical build have the best AoE healing Sentinel side has.

High damage build that will nuke squishy players. You can take points from tree to max Moon Blessing but the invulnerability from tree is nice and the healing on buffs even on physical build isn't bad either.
GvG / Mass fight build
Your cat will die, and you are stuck poking with your slow spear.
Switch to magic.
3.5 PvP tips
General pvp tips first:
Your cat dies > you die. Don't let your enemies kill your cat. Much easier on magic build. In mass fights do not go too far into the front line. You can't heal your friends or your cat if you are stunned. In mass fights don't use your root where most of the enemies are, you will only prevent Templars flow from working. It's better to use it behind you to catch any players trying to flank. If possible, try time your tree so that when you come out of it you will have your stun ready. Your cat isn't affected by Magic Globe of the Guild. However, if you are yourself in globes area, cat will do decreased damage since the cat inherits your stats. Try stay out of globes area and send your cat in.
Small tips against every class
4. Weapons/armors/buffs
4.1 Magic vs Physical damage
Many people ask me which is better, magic or physical builds. In my experience, physical is better for PvE and magic is better for PvP. That doesn't mean that magic is bad in PvE and vise versa. In PvE, there are only few places where high AoE damage is better than high single target damage so physical tends to be better in most places. In PvP, you just want your cat to be alive. Dead cat can't do damage.
4.2 Stats to focus on
You want to focus on stats that your cat inherits. Full list of inherited stats in 3.1 Beast Awakening.
Critical hit, try get to 50%.
Accuracy, try get at least 30%
Penetration, as high as possible.
Stun, in pvp use at least in boots.
Attack Strength, as high as possible in physical builds. Increases your cat's damage.
Skills Cooldown, as high as possible.
Rage, increases both physical and magical damage. Benefits bm more than most classes since cat will get increased damage from both stats.
Energy Regeneration, as high as possible. With cloth merman I have 125 energy regeneration and I still sometimes run out on energy.
4.3 PvE
4.3.1 PvE weapons
Beastmasters can use variety of different two-handed weapons.
There isn't really any reason to anything else, but two-handed hammers and spears currently.
Most 2h-hammers have magic as primary stat and spears have physical damage. There are some exceptions of course.
Magic weapons
Morgenstern of the Kingdom of Indestructibility
Best magic weapon for damage.
Royal Maul of the Magic Bastion
Insane cd, probably best option currently for AoE damage builds.
Hammer of Metamorphosis
Weapon for highest magical damage. Will give you more healing.
Crystal: Magical damage.
Rune: Damage Reflection.
Physical weapons
Spear of the Kingdom of Indestructibility
Best weapon for highest damage.
Spear of Metamorphosis
Slightly higher base damage, but cat will deal less damage.
Crystal: Physical Damage
Rune: Damage Reflection.
Damage calculations below. On mobile devices it's easier to see the tables in landscape mode.
4.3.2 PvE armors
Armors
Beastmasters can wear both Cloth Armors and Lightweight Armors. However, most Lightweight Armors have bad stats for bms (mainly attack speed). That is why most bms wear full cloth armors in PvE.
Two pieces of cloth merman armors are a must if you want the highest damage output. You also want some boots with Energy regeneration to keep up with the reduced energy regeneration. If you can't afford merman armors you can get full set of Spellweavers of the Pirate Archipelago from Mythical Sea Tramps or Spellweavers of the Unbreakable Alliance from Mythical Champions Colosseum(Nadir).
Examples of armor sets:
Hood of the Spellweavers of the Unbreakable Alliance
Smock of the Spellweavers of the Unbreakable Alliance
Bracers of the Spellweavers of the Unbreakable Alliance
Boots of the Spellweavers of the Unbreakable Alliance
Set bonuses:
Cowl of the Spellweavers of the Pirate Archipelago
Garb of the Spellweavers of the Pirate Archipelago
Gloves of the Spellweavers of the Pirate Archipelago
Shoes of the Spellweavers of the Pirate Archipelago
Set bonuses:
Hood of the Sacred Sign
Garb of the Spellweavers of the Pirate Archipelago
Gloves of the Spellweavers of the Pirate Archipelago
Clogs of the Sacred Sign
Set bonuses:
Hood of the Wizards of the Sea Turtle
Hoodie of Invisible Knowledge
Gloves of Invisible Knowledge
Clogs of the Wizards of the Sea Turtle
Set bonuses:
Helmet of Fatal Retribution
Hoodie of Invisible Knowledge
Gloves of Invisible Knowledge
High Boots of Fatal Retribution
Set bonuses:
With this set you will need all the energy regeneration you can get.
Best crystals and runes to use:
Hood / Armor Gloves Boots /
Belts
As for belts, I would use either Baldric of the Freebooters of the Code or Sash of the Freebooters of the Code. They both have skill cooldown and you can choose between them depending whether you need more Penetration or Accuracy.
Baldric of the Freebooters of the Code
Sash of the Freebooters of the Code
Best crystals and runes to use:
Belt
Magical build accessories
Craft cape is the obvious choice for all magic builds. For amulet there are few options, either an amulet with % magic damage or amulet with cd isn't bad either. Rings you should choose ones with Accuracy.
Chiton of Transcendence
Horrifying Medallion of Integrity
Marvelous Medallion of Invincibility
Symbol of Greatness
Horrifying Ring of Integrity
Magic Ring of Invincibility
Magic Signet-Ring of Invincibility
Best crystals and runes to use:
Cape / / Amulet / Rings
Physical build accessories
Get all accessories with Attack Strength. Cheaper good alternative is to get accessories with cd.
Bewitching Chiton of Invincibility
Magic Cloak of Invincibility
Magic Lavalier of Invincibility
Magic Amulet of Invincibility
Bewitching Amulet of Invincibility
Magic Circle of Invincibility
Magic Signet of Invincibility
Best crystals and runes to use:
Cape / Amulet / Rings / I use Vampirism runes on my accessories since I am tanking monsters when on physical build. You might have enough healing from just Rampage but there is a small gap when it isn't active. You're probably using Blessing of the Moon when on physical build so you don't need any crit crystals.
4.3.3 Pve buffs
Potions for magical builds:
Spellful Drink, increases magical damage by 15% and Rage by 10%. Revitalizing Julep, increases magical damage by 15% and Skill Cooldown speed by 10%.
Potions for physical builds:
Witching Potion of Magisters, increases maximum health by 700 and Attack Strength by 10.5%. Because Attack Strength is added to cat's damage after all the other calculations this has much bigger difference to the damage output than normal damage potions. You can check the calculations in the spoiler under physical weapons.
Scrolls for magical builds:
Scroll of Mermen's Magic, increases magic damage by 98. Any % magic buff will work on top of this. Assault Scroll of the Power Build-up, increases magic damage by 20% and Facilitation by 15%. Your aura, rampage and heals will last longer.
Scrolls for physical builds:
Manuscript of Royal Warriors, increases physical damage by 10% and Attack Strength by 7.5% Battle Scroll of the Power Build-up, increases physical damage by 15% and Facilitation by 15%. Your aura, rampage and heals will last longer.
Food, rarely needed in PvE:
Heady Rum, increases health by 616 and Health regeneration by 34. Since its flat hp, it will also increase cat's hp. Turtle Soup, increases energy by 46 and energy regeneration by 12. Useful if you have trouble with energy.
Minions:
Flame's Recruit. Active skill Amplification. Increases the character's physical strength by 20% and magical power by 25% for 10sec. The best minion for bm by far. Cat will deal insane damage since both stats get buffed. Only available from battle pass. Himal. Passive skill Himal's Advice. Increases the character's physical strength by 7% and magical power by 10% while the minion is alive. Similar effect to Flame's Recruit but the skill is passive. Can be bought from certain events. Lizardman Priest. Passive skill Critical Help. Increases the character's critical damage and critical healing power by 20% while the minion is alive. Can be bought from certain events. Black Tiger. Passive skill increases Energy regeneration by 30%. Active skill increases critical damage by 30% for 30 seconds.
4.4 PvP
4.4.1 Pvp weapons
Magic weapons
Maul of the Greatest Secutor with enchant.
Best weapon overall. High magic for heals and good damage.
Do not use Ferocity crystal on this weapon. Your cat would do slightly more damage, but every skill would deal less and you would heal a lot less too.
Morgenstern of the Kingdom of Indestructibility with enchant.
Most damage. Does more damage than the other ones because of the penetration. Sacrifices healing for damage.
Hammer of Metamorphosis with enchant.
Highest healing magic weapon.
Rune: Damage reflection.
Physical weapons
Spear of the Kingdom of Indestructibility with enchant.
Best weapon for pure damage with cat. It does more damage than arena spear because of the penetration and Attack Strength it has. Arena spear would be more damage if it had penetration.
Rune: Damage reflection.
Damage calculations below. On mobile devices it's easier to see the tables in landscape mode.
4.4.2 Pvp armors
Magical build basic pvp set
Normal arena gears for start. You can choose between arena belt and craft belt. Arena belt will make you and your cat a little bit tankier, but craft belt will give you a lot more hp and a little bit of cooldown speed.
Use whatever accessories you have for PvE. You should work towards getting full Greatness accessories, at least lvl26.
Mask of the Champion Assassin
Vestments of the Champion Arcanomancer
Bracelets of the Champion Arcanomancer
Boots of the Champion Arcanomancer
Belt of the Champion Arcanomancer or Sash of the Ominous Requiem
Best crystals and runes to use:
Hood Armor Gloves Boots Belt
Physical build basic pvp set
On physical build you should use Lightweight gloves and boots. The extra penetration from light gloves increases your damage more than the missing magic damage would. Boots have mana regeneration now instead of cd so you can use penetration crystals on your ring(s).
It would be perfectly fine to use the Magical build with physical weapon too.
Use whatever accessories you have for PvE. You should work towards getting Greatness rings, at least lvl26, and Contender cape and amulet. They should be as high level as possible.
Mask of the Champion Assassin
Vestments of the Champion Arcanomancer
Wrists of the Champion Assassin
High Boots of the Champion Assassin
Belt of the Champion Arcanomancer
Best crystals and runes to use:
Hood / Armor Gloves Boots Belt Rings
Magical build Greatness set
There are two ways which you can build your magic greatness set. You either go full cooldown set or use mix of two pieces from health set. Full cd set being little bit tankier while mix set having more hp. There is basically zero difference between overall tanking abilities of these sets. However, if you use full set, enemies will hit you for lower amounts and it will be easier to keep your cat and yourself alive with your heals. Also, the enemies will get less healing from lifesteal since they don't hit as high. That is why I recommend using full cooldown set.
Cowl of Greatness
Smock of Greatness
Bracers of Greatness
Boots of Greatness
Sash of the Ominous Requiem
Cloak of Greatness
Symbol of Greatness
Ring of Greatness
Set bonuses:
Best crystals and runes to use:
Hood / Armor Gloves Boots Belt Cape / Amulet Rings
Physical build Greatness set
On physical build you should mix cloth hp set with light hp set. You will get a lot of extra hp from two set bonuses. Instead of craft belt you could use Baldric of the Corsairs of the Code for extra penetration. The hp from that belt will also increase your cat's hp.
Helm of Greatness
Vestments of Greatness
Wrists of Greatness
Shoes of Greatness
Sash of the Ominous Requiem or Baldric of the Corsairs of the Code
Contender's Cloak
Contender's Symbol
Ring of Greatness
Set bonuses:
Best crystals and runes to use:
Hood / Armor Gloves Boots / Belt Cape / Amulet Rings
4.4.3 PvP buffs
Potions for both builds:
Sinister Potion of Alchemist, increases hp by 700 and stun by 7%. Increases cats hp too since its flat hp. Polar Potion of Resistance, increases Resistance by 15% Greater Potion of Lifeforce, increases effectiveness of healing from skills on you by 60%. You can use this potion with any other potion, it won't replace other potions.
Potions for magical builds:
Potion of Majestic Mages, increases magic damage by 15%, health by 15% and energy by 30%
Potions for physical builds:
Witching Potion of Magisters, increases maximum health by 700 and Attack Strength by 10.5%. Legendary Potion of Permeation, increases penetration by 15%
Scrolls for both builds:
Legendary Scroll of Resistance, increases resilience by 15% Magnificent Scroll of Invincibility, increases resistance by 20% and defenses by 30%
Scrolls for magical builds:
Scroll of Mermen's Magic, increases magic damage by 98. Any % magic buff will work on top of this.
Scrolls for physical builds:
I would use defensive scrolls on physical builds.
Food:
Heady Rum, increases health by 616 and Health regeneration by 34. Since its flat hp, it will also increase cat's hp.
If you made it this far, thank you for reading!

Zurp got a reaction from SeaDemon in Emergency to Balance ELF-MC mechanism of choose
Kinda hard to balance alliances when they aren't as one sided on all servers. For example, these are the war results from 2022:
Seems like elfs need buff on some servers and mcs on some.
You also cant buff the classes from one side just because they have less people playing. Arenas and GvG's would be dominated by those classes that got buffed, because there it doesn't matter how many total players one side has.
Only way to balance this would be to add some incentives to make new characters on the side with less players. Increased xp/knowledge or something for new characters.

5/5

4/4
4/4
Same as previous PvP build but no Rampage this time. In mass battles your cat dies much more often so you do not want to waste points on skills that you can't use. Tree at 4/4 is a must since bm's on magical build have the best AoE healing Sentinel side has.
3.4.2 Physical PvP

Zurp got a reaction from Laevateinn in Emergency to Balance ELF-MC mechanism of choose

2/4
