Tell The Story

Hello guys,

So recently I noticed that many people really enjoy the story of the game (see the Warspear Chronicles or my other topic Fill In The Gaps). But most people don't take the time to do so, for whatever reasons (it is quite time consuming).

So I thought I would create this topic for anybody who does read the quests to share knowledge about the story. (If devs give us bonus details that aren't in the game that's cool too:tired2:).

If you want to contribute please label your post like so:

Canon :factual information (so far as your memory allows)

Canon++ :Includes the game storyline and is set in the game realm, but your imagination is added!

Okay, so I'm going to start with the skeleton storyline of the base islands to get us rolling! (Not all in a single post tho, thatd b mad long).

CANON

Firstborn;

You are going along with your regular elf business. You visit the capital, Illhor, and find yourself a job at the mill. A war is impeding. The fairies and local wildlife have gotten aggressive. You quickly show your abilities and become very useful helping prep for the war. Doing this you journey about the island, helping to protect villages from mad animals. Also, there is a pirate attack on the island you help stop. Eventually you discover that forsaken sorcerors have infiltrated the island. Some elves who were once good are now no more than puppets of the necromancers (although this isnt apparent). They have also managed to curse the guatd spirit of Melvendil, which was the cause of all the animals, fairies and wisps going feral. You earn much respect and are sent to Irselnort where your abilities will be useful in the war agaunst the Legion.

So, thats about that. It was very brief, and there are a lot of details to fill in later. Hope you all liked it. If it was difficult to understand or anything, please do tell me. 🙂

Hehe, really doing the quests is better. That way you can experience how the gms tell the story. I find the writing technique is really well executed.

Anyways, on to Mountain Clans.

CANON

So in mountain clans you begin your journey in the capital city of Godgarra (spelling is wrong, somebody correct me. I know I could go check myself but I'm too lazy:blush:)

You had been on your way to grant give the chief of the Wolf Clan (the Chief chief of all the clans) a gift. However, on the way your gift was stolen. You really need to find this gift so you talk to everybody and they give you tasks in return for information, advice and some money.

Meanwhile you have proven your abilities to be impressive so the shamen (shamans?) are led to believe that you are favoured by the spirits. They set you upon the path of the spirits to test if you have the makings of a great warrior.

To complete the path of spirits each clans chief and shaman must believe you to be fit. This forces you to carry out tasks (of both everyday and spiritual significance) at each town. During this time you continue to ask about and search for your missing gift.

At a stage you end up working for a necromancer who you find is fooling one of the clan chiefs into being his slave. (Basically you discover the Forsaken are manipulating the Mcs into siding with them in the war). You overlook this, however (I dont know/cant remember why).

At the last town you manage to complete the path of spirits and find your gift. Somebody stole it and used it as a prize for a tournament, so to get it back you had to prove to the tournament winner you were more worthy of the prize than him.

As the trial of spirits has proven you a great warrior, and you have presented your gift to the wolf clan chief, you are sent to Irselnort to join forces with the Legion in the war against the Sentinels.

Laoch cróga!(?) I noticed your interest and decided to bring back some campfire stories of Arinar, the beggining of the factions - I believe they are no longer found excepting in PT language (you can consider this as a bonus content, they're official). I would write about the classes, but this would take too much space and unfortunately I don't have the stories of new classes yet. - Enjoy!

Aha, I nearly forgot I was supposed to add the other storylines after being gifted with the extra info!

CANON

In the forskaen map you actually have a number of origin storys to choose from at T3, but what reamins is that you were betrayed by Kevin, paladin scum.

Because of this your soul couldn't rest or something? and you wound up on Moraktar. As you have no money to pay your passage, you need to earn it by doing quests, so that you might be set free.

A lot of your time is also spent searching for clues about your past, who you were and what you did.

In T2 an interesting story about Glad (who is your master/ you are his slave), how he was murdered and stuff like that.

Also, the One with No Name is a dictator of the lands of Moraktar. You serve in the army for a bit, and help get rid of elven/chosen scum who jave managed to infiltrate the land's magical borders.

The story of the forsaken lands is probably the most interesting and most complex of all the starting islands, so maybe some others can help me fill in the blanks here?

Also, I have never completed Lanasgard so if somebody wants to give the synopsis for it?

AND (so many asks from me to ppl in general😂) I think it would be cool for some Median night stories for the season, both the storylines of past events and any cool quests or experiences you had)

Oíche Shamhna shona daoibh!
