Arthas 388
Rogue Hi , my character is God , from Tourmaline server , and i have played Rogue for over 5 years, but ended up quitting the class for the lack of guild utility , as i am the guild leader of <KINGDOM> and that is my main focus on this game. I am back to my Rogue , so i decided to try and help a little bit the people that still play this class after all this time. It is known by most people that Rogues are really looked down from a Guild perspective , as they lack Team Fight techniques compared to most DD classes , such as Warlocks , Hunters , Chieftains and DK. On Tourmaline 95% of active rogues have switched classes over the last few years , as Warspear's focus has turned towards guild content , and you pretty much need a high level competitive guild to be able to enjoy the entirety of the game , and i believe that is also the case in all other servers. On this guide i'll try to show people a build that might just make Rogues a lot more viable , so people can find guilds for now , until the class gets a rework that takes into consideration what the endgame competitive scene has become. For the last few years Rogues had only 2 very niche spots in guilds : 1 - Attack Party on Mermen 2nd stage (A few of them to try and get an easy kill on the enemy pilon on some really specific situations that you can get a Pilon without defenses) But they are incredibly outmatched by their counterpart , the Seekers (As Seekers have a lot more movement speed and damage) 2 - Scouting (They are the best Legion class for scouting , as they can get easy access to most areas in GvG content , and can get a few easy kills , that can help a lot in Mermen , if you have a really tight score) But , there is a way that you can actually have decent DPS/CONTROL in Full Team Fights (100x100) , and that is by making use of 2 Rogue abilities : Ricochet and Poisonous Blades. The Basics : Spoiler Ricochet: An attack that deals to the opponent physical damage in the amount of P% of the character's physical strength, as well as to all enemies located within a radius of 3 yard around the character. Each subsequent target takes 10% less damage from the skill. Maximum number of player targets is Y, maximum number of monster targets is X. Poisonous Blades: Deals the “Poisonous blades” buff to a character for T sec. Any auto-attack or skill attack that deals instant damage under the effect will deal the "Poisoning" debuff to the enemy for 6 sec. The effect deals physical damage in the amount of P% of the character's physical strength every 2 sec. But Ricochet on its own its inneficient , you'll need the talent Tornado of Blades , which you can get on the "Path of Rogue" Talent Tree. And what it does is Each time the Ricochet skill deals damage to an opponent, another random target is also hit. And to make Poisonous Blades actually work in an AOE situation you'll need a Necromancer in your party , spamming Poisonous Shield on you. Which deals the "Poisonous shield" buff to a character or group member for 12 sec. Poisonous shield deals magical damage in the amount of P% of the character's magical power to all enemies within a radius of 2 yards every 2 sec. If the target is under the influence of the "Dark forces" skill, then their health will also be restored in the amount of D% of the damage inflicted. Maximum number of player targets is Y, the limit on the number of monster targets is X. Ps.: The Necro can also use Purification by the filth , which is his talent , that makes the effect of the Poisonous Shield skill additionally removes 1 of the debuff from the target every 4 sec. Basic Rotation : Spoiler You'll need to talk to your Necro so you guys get a tempo that works well for you both. You will use (Don't use any offensive skill nor auto attacks now because that will cancel your Poisonous Blade effect) and then he will use on you. Which will proc both skills in AOE. You'll keep spamming when out of cooldown , and you'll both try to keep the combo always up to maximize damage. Gear : Spoiler There are many viable setups , i'll show you my 3 favorites : Tip : Use 2 axes. Cooldown Reduction/Base damage is the way to go. Attack speed is useless in this build. 1 - Damage Focused : Which you'll try and get 50% Ferocity/CDR/Penetration as possible so you can deal as much damage as possible , while still maintaining HIGH RESILIENCE Because its easy to get tempted into getting more offensive attributes by switching off a few pvp items , but Rogues are incredibly squishy since the Evasion Nerf , so i would not reccomend that. Your can choose which axe to use on the main hand but i reccomend : Because : Ricochet can be dodged. 2 - Control Focused : You'll focus on getting as much Stun as possible. As Ricochet + Talent will proc it really frequently. This one is a bit more tricky as you will need a few specific items. Again , Axe because of CDR from Extermination + Base damage 5% Stun when in combat with 3 or + enemies ( Will always proc on GvG) 2.5% Stun 10% Stun (Really cheap and easy to find potion) 5% stun From Gear you get 17.1% From Passive Books you get 7.5% From Potion/Scroll you get 15% 3 - Mixed (My personal preference) : Using the same Gear as the first one , but instead of Damage buffs and books , using STUN. That way you'll lose 13% stun from weapons , but you'll gain a lot of damage. Test : Spoiler Rogue : This is the rogue you'll see in the following Gifs Full damage build : Control Build : Test Subjects : Always a work in progress as i am still studying the class. I hope it helps some Rogues out there. Edited March 30, 2023 by Arthas Smilechex, Marcelo-TU, Daniel Paulo and 4 others
Axetricks 42
That’s the only way to be useful with rogue nowadays, I play it like that too. Good post!
