Solar Mark and Mantra Improvements for the Templar
The Templar currently functions mainly as a support and control class. Its shields, healing, buffs and area control help the entire party. Solar Mark, however, is based on Aggression—a tank mechanic that does not fit this support identity well.
In PvP, Aggression provides very little protection. In PvE, it is only useful when the Templar is tanking and can even pull enemies away from the actual tank.
Solar Mark
- Replace Aggression with Solar Weakness.
- In PvP, marked players deal 15% less damage to everyone except the Templar.
- In PvE, marked monsters deal 10% less damage to party members.
- Healing should scale from the Templar’s magic power, activate once every 3 seconds and not remove the mark.
- This would make Solar Mark useful for protecting and sustaining the party in both PvP and PvE.
Mantra of Healing
- Reduce its duration from 5 to 3 seconds while keeping approximately the same total healing.
- Remove the movement-speed penalty.
- Grant 2 seconds of resistance after Mantra ends.
- Keep the current cooldown.
These changes would strengthen the Templar’s support identity without adding more crowd control.
