Just tried this, but doesnt work..there is just nothing there for me to send a message. Been unable to do this since update..making this game impossible, cant chat to anyone

Hey wonder if anyone can help me???? I play this game on an androindd fun. Most functions work great but I have come across a really annoying problem..i am unable to chat to anyone through the chat function. There is no envelope for me to send messages to people on here and my return button on the keypad doesnt work either. This has become extremely frustrating as I cant ask for help with big bosses, or reply to anyone that speaks to me...anybody know hoew to sort this????
