Suggestion 1:
I’d suggest a new defensive skill for Warlock that makes it a bit tankier in PvP while keeping its identity as a ranged control class.
Warlock surrounds itself with dark energy, absorbing a portion of incoming damage for a short duration.
Proposed mechanics
Absorbs 20% of incoming damage for 5 seconds at maximum skill level.
If a control skill is resisted during the effect, Warlock restores a small amount of health.
The skill does not prevent control effects or make Warlock immune to damage.
Moderate cooldown to prevent permanent damage reduction.
Why this would work
More survivability: Warlock can survive burst damage long enough to use its controls again.
Helps against resistance: The skill remains useful even when enemies resist Fear, Horror or other controls.
Balanced for PvP: Damage reduction is temporary, so Warlock does not become a tank.
Fits the class: A dark magical barrier suits Warlock's existing theme.
Alternative idea: Make it a passive talent instead, granting a small shield whenever Warlock successfully drains an enemy's energy. That would reward an active damage-and-control playstyle rather than giving Warlock another button to press.
Suggestion 2:
I think adding a defensive effect to an existing Warlock skill would be better than introducing a completely new skill. It keeps the class balanced and doesn't require changing its playstyle too much.
Here are my top 3 suggestions for Warspear Online PvP.
1. Dark Seal - additional damage reduction
My top choice
Add a defensive effect that reduces incoming damage to the Warlock by 10–15% while Dark Seal is active on an enemy.
Remove the existing requirement for the enemy to be muted.
Keep the proposed 25% reduction to the enemy's damage dealt.
The additional defence only applies while Dark Seal is active.
This would make Warlock tankier without giving it permanent damage reduction.
2. Life Drain - defensive bonus
Add a small shield or damage reduction effect while Life Drain is active.
Increase the tick frequency to once per second.
Restore health more consistently.
Optionally reduce incoming damage by 5–10% while channeling or casting the skill.
This would improve sustained survivability, although the defensive bonus should be modest to avoid excessive healing and tankiness together.
3. Stone Body - protection after leaving the skill
Add a short defensive effect when Warlock exits Stone Body.
Grant 15% damage reduction for 3 seconds after leaving Stone Body.
Keep the existing skill mechanics unchanged.
Prevent the bonus from refreshing continuously while the skill is active.
This would give Warlock a chance to reposition after using Stone Body without making it invulnerable for longer.
