Vesper, the Frost-Bound Trickster

Born from the shattered relics of the Snowy Boundary, Vesper was once an ambitious Arinar scholar obsessed with mastering its frozen ley-lines. His greatest experiment ended in disaster when he attempted to channel raw frost-ether through a cursed void focus.

The surge froze his body and shattered his soul into shadowy fragments. What emerged from the ice was no longer human—a crimson-eyed creature dressed as an elegant gentleman, forever bound to the Boundary's eternal frost.

Refined, arrogant, and dangerously playful, Vesper wanders the snow-covered peaks carrying an ethereal orb where he imprisons the souls of those who cross his path. He delights in misleading travelers, stealing their lanterns, and leaving false footprints in the snow.

Yet beneath his games lies a desperate purpose: Vesper believes that one day he will capture a soul pure enough to restore his shattered humanity.

Until then, he smiles from the blizzard—and waits.

No, it's about screenshots of the work stages, not about the strange tracing of the outline of an AI-generated image.

Well it's normal pixel application I'm using that don't need to be AI-genrated image.

Anyways show me your work stages for example and I can do it easy.

I can explain a little about the concept of drawing, and creative creation in general.

Initially, you have nothing. First, you create something that is just a sketch or a rough shape of something that vaguely resembles what you have in your head. And with each stage of the process, you bring your idea closer and closer to the ideal you have in mind. To do this, you need to change shapes, experiment, think, and observe.

It’s not like you suddenly decide to create the final line art of your work from scratch as the very first step - without a basic sketch, a reference, or anything else. That simply makes no sense.

Here’s an example of how I created my work. You can see that at the beginning, I didn’t have the final lineart or the final shapes - they emerged as a result of the creative process and experimentation.

Here’s another example showing the stages of another participant’s work, where pretty much the same thing happened.

Meanwhile, this is what your “sketch” looks like. It’s just tracing, and it proves nothing.

Well the idea started from here

Then I started to draw the face like this

Then the full body with almost same style with some changes to fit the new character

And finally started to color it.

Unfortunately, I'm not taking screenshots of each stage because I'm using normal pixel application so I have to start it all over again.

Might be off topic but I always found really fascinating how people's thought process is shown. Especially from people who know their stuff.

About that, from my own perspective it's enough just to zoom the image to notice that pixels aren't even the same size. My drawing skills are terrible and even I have noticed that, let alone people who do draw as their daily job routine. When we ask for templates we want to give you the benefit of doubt as well as a chance to prove you actually worked on that: this means that it is in your own interest to provide for the request.

So, basically, you have a work that resembles AI-generated art, with colors that are extremely unsuitable for a winter-themed event - and you have no proof that you created it yourself?

On top of that, there’s the second version, which was 100% made with AI, because it contains icicles with holes in them that are less than one pixel in size - which is physically impossible to achieve when drawing pixels at a 1:1 scale

Of course, it’s up to the judges to decide, but I don’t think they’re going to see it any differently
