June 19Jun 19 "Hey... do you remember where it all started?" The question appeared in world chat one quiet evening. Most players ignored it. Some were too busy chasing endgame gear, others were rushing dailies across lands that didn't even exist when we first stepped into Arinar. But for a moment, I stopped moving. My character stood still. And my eyes drifted across the world map. Back to where it all began. Back to Firstborn. Firstborn wasn't just an island. It was home. Back then we didn't know about Ayvondil, Almahad, talents, relic combinations, mythic dungeons, or whatever complicated systems existed today. All we knew was that the world was huge. And dangerous. Very dangerous. I still remember the first time someone told me about the Blue Snake. Not some legendary raid boss. Not some world event. Just a mini-boss. Yet back then, that thing felt like the final boss of the entire game. A few brave players would gather around it, discussing strategies as if we were preparing for war. "Need healer." "Need tank." "Wait for more people." Because trying to solo it? That was suicide. The Blue Snake didn't care about your dreams. It would send you straight back to the graveyard. And somehow, that made every victory feel special. Those were simpler times. Better times. Then came Irselnort. The island where legends were born. And friendships were destroyed. The moment Mountain Clans and Elves finally crossed paths, everything changed. The game stopped being players versus monsters. Now it was players versus players. And chaos ruled the island. For some players, Irselnort was a battlefield. For me? It was a playground. Because by then, I had become a Ranger. And not just any Ranger. A very annoying Ranger. Every veteran Elf knows exactly what I'm talking about. The right-side T4 entrance. My favorite spot. While everyone else was busy fighting bosses or completing quests, I was hiding nearby waiting for unsuspecting Rogues from MC went they tried crossing. Trap. Caught. Stuck. Watching helplessly as angry Elves rushed toward them. Sometimes they escaped. Most of the time they didn't. And I won't lie. It was absolutely EXCITINGGGG (meme reference). Ayvondil Then came Ayvondil. The island responsible for the disappearance of half my friends list. And occasionally...Me. When Ayvondil first arrived, everyone was excited. New maps. New bosses. New adventures. What nobody told us was that Ayvondil was secretly a full-time job disguised as an update. At first it seemed simple, "Just complete a few quests." Then another map unlocked. Then another, Then another, Then suddenly someone started talking about reputation. Then talents. Then more reputation. Then another reputation. Then daily quests. Then daily quests for the daily quests. The list goes on. At one point I wasn't even sure if I was playing Warspear or applying for a second career. I remember logging in after work thinking, "Alright, today I'll make some good progress." Three hours later I had completed seventeen quests, killed forty-seven monsters, travelled across four maps, collected twenty-seven random items, and somehow achieved absolutely nothing. The reputation bar moved by what looked like half a pixel. Half. A. Pixel. Realization Then one day I logged out. Just for a short break. A few days. Maybe a week. Nothing serious. Ayvondil had other plans. A few days became weeks. Weeks became months. Months became... Well... Let's just say my "short break" lasted long enough for people to start asking if I had died. I would occasionally think about logging back in. Then someone would mention reputation farming. And suddenly I was busy again. Very busy. Extremely busy. The busiest man in the world. But the thing about Warspear is that no matter how long you leave, it always finds a way to pull you back. One random day nostalgia hits. You hear the old soundtrack. You see a screenshot. A friend sends a message. And before you know it, you're downloading the game again saying: "Just gonna check what's new." The biggest lie in MMO history. Because "checking what's new" somehow turns into playing until 3 AM and wondering why you're farming reputation again. And just like that...Ayvondil wins. Every. Single. Time. 😆 Almahad The island that taught me one very important lesson. No matter how many years you've played. No matter how many bosses you've killed. No matter how many players you've trapped at T4. You're still NOOOOB (i repeat noooob). At least I was. By the time Almahad arrived, I wasn't some legendary +10 veteran crushing everything in sight. I was still running around with a level that made half the mobs look at me and think, "Fresh meat." Meanwhile the Blue Snake from Firstborn was probably watching from somewhere thinking, "After all these years, you're still getting bullied?" And honestly? Yes. Yes, I was. At one point I wasn't progressing through Almahad anymore. I was conducting important scientific research on which mobs could kill me the fastest. The results were surprising. The answer was all of them. LITTERALLY ALL OF EM!! For the first time in years, I felt exactly how I felt back in Firstborn. Wondering if I had accidentally entered an area meant for players twenty levels higher. The same feeling that anything could happen the moment you left town. Looking at Arinar today, I don't remember every item I've owned. What I remember are the moments. The Blue Snake that united a group of clueless beginners. In the memories of blue snake.
