Basic Guide About Catacombs
1. Entry Schedule and Possible Drops

Spoiler

You can check catacomb entry schedule from menu (it looks like this on right down corner "☰") then press "activities" > then "catacombs"
it will show you when will the entrance on catacomb will open and at that page you also can see the possible drop you can get.

to add more information:
Catacomb entry will open for 2 (two) hours, twice a week and on castle siege/deffense day catacomb entrance will open exactly 1 hour late than the other days.

2. Requirements to enter, entrance location, and how to get there!

Spoiler

A. Requirements to Enter

There is no level or reputations requirement to enter catacomb, but all party member must be part of a non playable guild such as:

  • Adventurer's Guild of Almahad; image.png.f0b4d704b436e57076b83a9f6cbade71.png
  • Assasin's Guild of Almahad; image.png.06a5f14e99cf0c4d295cc726f4b7bffa.png and
  • Mage's Guild of Almahad. image.png.800e701a954f0702038e604f281ea0c8.png

Which will be unlocked for you to choose after you done series of main quest (yellow quest) in Almahad.

B. Entrance Location

Once the entrance is open, you can see the catacomb legend (icon) on Almahad Map, Exactly on Black Ziggurats - Golden Sands

image.png.574c305e49354409983aa01dfb6a4eba.png

C. How To Get There!!!
There are many ways to get there, but for me i love to walk from caravanner that located either in Southeastern Gate - Er-Sahil or Southwestern Gate - Er-Sahil:
image.thumb.png.12fe1a043c8bdb091de591fba8fa9a29.png

Then use the Caravanner NPC to go to the Mirage Desert, and after you arive on the mirage desert you need to walk straight left until you found  an entrance on Camp of Lawful Genie - Mirage Desert and then enter there (Note, Monster in Mirage Deserts are PVE so if you use PVP Gear you will likely get killed by the monster)

image.png.d1c84d4ca496f65d478a32bc73a15c57.png

And after that you can follow this trick as shown in the video below:

Note:

1. i did not use any weapon to simulate that you can walk there without enganging to any fight;

2. for those who has low amplifications gear or doesnt have any pvp gears, then its better to prepare dried cricket (food items that can give you stealth buffs in the golden sands) that you can buy from Quartermaster NPC in Almahad Town for 35 dirhams. but be careful tho, sometimes monster can still see you especially elite mobs!;

3. walk from edges and use cross often to avoid mob; and you are all set!

Equipment and Buffs Guide

1. Equipment Guide

Spoiler

All monster you saw on catacomb is categorized as "PVP Monster" it is recomended to use PVP Equipments !!!, but there is one question prevails should we use Almahad Weapons that has "Exhausting Heat" stats or weapon that has "Ferocity" stats? lets break it down:

1. image.png.c07ddc7cc37a72d8095cf5fadda3c4a5.png Weapons Pros and Cons

Exhausting heat is a stat which let you bypass the Resilience of Golden Sands monsters by specified percentage with a maximum cap of 50%;

Pros:

  • Because it bypass the Resilience of Golden Sands monsters it means you have more chance to land a critical hits on Catacombs PVP Monsters;
  • You can kill Monsters (strong, elite, mini bosses, and main boss) faster because you can land a critical hit;

Cons:

  • It doesn't work on players, so your damage might be even smaller than even your normal pve weapon (depending on amplifications and levels of the weapons);
  • It revolves around your critical built too!! if your critical chance stats is low then it is not recomended to use weapon with exhausting heat stats!
  • Ferocity weapon usually deals more normal damage/non critical damage (at a certain level range) than exhausting heat weapon;
  • Its best not used on a character/hero that can use icy relic of cruelty (relics that guarantees a critical strike with the skill when used under Rage).

2. image.png.55f90df40cedf9166b196e7247466ff7.png Weapons Pros and Cons

Ferocity is a stat which:
+ increases physical and magic damage done to players by the specified percentage (including PVP Monsters

- Reduces physical and magic damage done to PVE Monsters by the specified percentage.

with a maximum cap of 50 %

Pros:

  • It usually deals more normal damage/non-critical strike damage to PVE Monster (at a certain level range) than exhausting heat weapon;
  • it increases your damage to both Players and PVP Monsters (catacomb included);
  • it's best use on character/hero that can use icy relic of cruelty (relics that guarantees a critical strike with the skill when used under Rage).

Cons:

  • you will less likely (might be impossible) to deal critical strike to catacomb monsters;

Boots:

it is recomended for you to use Boots that has Resilience stat because it reduces the damage taken from PVP Monster better than normal boots, but in case you are late for exit and need to make it there as soon as possible then it is good to use boots that has "Movement Speed in the Sands" stat image.png.bf66df64e37965e5df93061e5eed71ef.png. but when you use it you should stay close to your party member because you will be more vulnerable!

2. Buffs Guide

Spoiler

Other than potions and scroll, it is recomended for you to buy buffs with crimsons corundum from NPC called Sage Al-Mualim:

image.png.96f77c769ce4b500e0971ac6f85a3d5a.png

which you can buy variety of buffs such as:

a. image.png.de03a991cbb96f7c75a8c721516d519a.png

Sands Power increases skill damage against Golden Sands monster by 2.5%, lasts 2 hours and can be stacked up to 2 times;

Cost: 100 crimson corundums each;

f.image.png.c7ade095c2e55bbe8ee29d3e6247735d.png

Immortal Might increases damage against catacomb monsters by 3%, lasts 2 hours and can be stacked  up to 2 times;

Cost: 75 crimson corundums each;

g. image.png.216ae6eba623388ce377499607bcfe1e.png

Immortal Ward reduces damage taken from catacomb monsters by 3%, lasts 2 hours and can be stacked up to 3 times

Cost: 50 crimson corundums each;

it is good if you can buy all of it but it surely be a little bit expensive as it will cost you 1400 crimsons corundum. so for me i suggest that you take Immortal Might and Immortal Ward as well as Sands Power buff at least.

Guide on How to Demand

The Best Way to Get The Most of It

Spoiler

From my experience, there is a way on how to reduce the percentage on meeting with strong players in catacomb run. and as a player there is a principle that i always upheld: It is better to do fewer runs with good result than doing more runs with bad result!

so here is the trick:

1. Do win/lose run with your guild mates/friends!

Each catacomb run consist of 4 party (20 players). it means you and your friends can register at the same time and maybe (if the queue is right) got into the same run!!! and then you can switch who gonna win and lose (including mid bosses)

2. Got into other group win/lose by force!

So... what happen if you dont have many friends and only has exactly 1 party to join catacomb runs? does it means you will get destroyed by all of the strong player? NO!!! There is always a way! Strong party tends to demand without cares!! they usually will demand anytime they get out while Win/Lose party (weaker players... sorry to say) will demand exactly when queue is below 5 players (when people has just entered the catacomb runs) so the leader of the party must watch carefully, after the queue reduced to below 5 player (after people entered) then its your time to shine and register your group, that way you will MOST LIKELY MEET 1 or 2 if not 3 party that is atleast as strong or weaker than you!!!

Catacombs Mechanic and Other Guide:

1. Catacombs Route

Spoiler

A. Gold Chest/Bronze Chest Area

This is the complete map of Catacomb that contains bronze and gold chest area. the gold/bronze respawn place is shuffled every run but they do spawn in 4 specific area and that is:

image.thumb.png.931032151de5efbf2f34cfdef15f0a28.png

  • If your team spawned on Top left area, then its better to first check for up chest area or left chest area
  • If your team spawned on Top right area, then its better to first check for up chest area or down chest area;
  • If your team spawned on Down Left area, then its better to first check for left chest area or down chest area; and
  • If your team spawned or Down Right area, then its better to first check for  right chest area or down chest area.

Gold chest may contain:

  • Level 33 Unique Accessories with bonuses to Critical Hit Strength / Subjugation / Skill Power;
  • Unique Empowering;
  • Relics Powerful Potions Spheres of Damage and Defense Enhancement; and
  • Precious Bars

Bronze chest may contain:

  • Level 33 Unique Armor (Head, Body, Hands, Legs) with the Tenacity bonus;
  • Unique Empowering Relics;
  • Powerful Potions;
  • Spheres of Damage and Defense Enhancement; and
  • Precious Bars.

B. Usefull Buffs Area

some usefull buffs such as extra damage spawns randomly in this area:

image.thumb.png.078cf714934f0955da44f2ff3c400fbb.png

C. Main Boss Area

Main bosses respawned at 6 minute left before catacomb run ended and main bosses are in the middle of the map:

image.thumb.png.2c2a9df687c749c93541115f117ec586.png

D. Exit Door:

Exit Door opened at under 5 minutes left before the catacomb runs ended and there is 4 exit available, either it is left and right or ups and down. thats why it is recomended that once you done your runs on chest area map, atleast open 1 exit map so you can see whether there is exit there or not. for example if you are killing mini bosses on the left chest spawn area, you can cross to the left map once to open left exit map, and the time counter hit 04:59 you opened map and there is not exit sign there, then the exits is certainly on up and down maps, here is the 4 possible exit spawn map:

image.thumb.png.544f26f9822bb92d95a510c498192792.png

E. Complete Map

So if we put it together, this will be the complete map:

image.thumb.png.88359614439af1f4b896ec789df3ea15.png

2. Mini Boss Mechanic

Spoiler

Mini boss is quite hard to deal with if you are coming with low amplified gear/PVE Gear, but it is still doable with minions and potions/scroll. here is a guide on how to take it down:

  • Dont Hoarde all the mobs because even those with decent gear might die if the mobs are stacked;
  • Red Area will give you damage, and the more the stack means the more the damage you recieve!!! so DO NOT STAND IN THE RED AREA!!!
  • It is recomended to use 2 revive minions such as Water Elemental or Vodoo Minions, but it is preferred to use Water Elemental because it has party heal as well as pain shield and user heal;
  • Kill the mobs that uses bow first because it can blind/use scatter shot on you and make you walk to groups of monsters!!!
  • if you die before all the monster is Finished YOU WONT GET the guaranteed chest loot "Treasury of the Spider Cult" but you still can open the chest loot!

Here some video on killing mini bosses!!!

3. Bosses Mechanic and Reward

Spoiler

As already stated before, the main boss of catacomb respawned at around 6 minutes before the catacomb runs ended (around 4 minutes after the run started). here is a guide and infos on how to take the boss down:

  • Bosses have 500.000 Health Point and when his HP Hits 50% he will spawn 2 mobs on right end left which will reduce Bosses damage taken if you dont kill it. so when the mob spawned always kill the mob first!!
  • If you die then there is no reward for you!!!! so if one of your party is dead, kindly wait for him/her (if can);
  • on boss room it is good for all party member to use summons that can revive, especially Water Elemental Summon, or maybe mix it with summon medusa to increase damage done by party for 20 % and Summon Pork Pillager to increase enemy damage taken by 10%. Because you need to kill the boss and get out of that place before other party comes and steal it from you!!!

here some video on bosses mechanic:

From the main Boss you can get guaranteed reward:

  • Silver Dirhams;
  • Knowledge
  • Gold;
  • Your Current Non-Playable Guild of Almahad; and
  • Treasury of Immortals which can drop Heroic or unique items, as well as relics, items, consumable, bars etc;

and one randomly selected party member is guaranteed to receive one of the following equipment pieces:

  • Level 34 Heroic Armor (Head, Body, Hands, Legs) with unique set skills;
  • Level 33 Unique Armor (Head, Body, Hands, Legs) with the Tenacity bonus; and
  • Level 33 Unique Belts with the Resilience bonus;

4. Other Mechanics:

Spoiler

A. Emergency Exit

  • Emergency Exit will be open on spawning area 3 minutes after you enter (7 minutes before runs ended);
  • if you used emergency exit, then you will get penalty such as your knowledge, gold, and non-playable guild reputation will be half of what you would recieve if you used normal exit;
  • your loots such as items and equipment will also be locked and you will need dirhams to unlock it in catacombs vault;
  • Once you use left the spawning area, the only way for you to access the emergency exit is through dying.

B. Catacomb Vault

  • Catacomb Vault will be reseted right when the Catacomb Entrance Open;
  • Once you take items from it you cant put it back in;
  • If the items is locked because you either didnt make it to exit or uses emergency exit, you need to use dirhams to unlock the items before you can take it to your bag (unlocking it doesnt mean you took it);

C. Normal Exit

  • If you uses Normal Exit you will get twice the amount of knowledge, gold, and non-playable guild reputation than if you didnt make it to exit/uses emergency exit;
  • There is also a chance you can get twice the items you dropped, so if can use the normal exit!;

D. Mobs that open shortcut to Main Bosses

Near the chest spawn area, there is a chance that Flesh-Stitcher Monster spawned there that when you killed all of them it opened a short cut to main boss room area, here some video of the mechanics:

5. Other Guides:

Spoiler

A. Party and Survival Guides:

  • The party should have atleast 1 tanks, 1 healer, and 2 damager (bare minimum) the extra 1 you can actually choose between damager or another healer/tanks depends on the play-style;
  • atleast 2 people from the party must use minion with revival skill;
  • If you are lucky enough to obtain Heroic Equipment and the exits you are going to are blocked by strong opponent, it is better to run to other exit or wait till the time runs out because you if so you can use dirhams to unlock and get the gear! and if you die, you will drop 50% (half) of what you obtained during catacomb run and if you only have 1 piece of that type of item, then you will certainly dropped it for others to loot!!;
  • in some random occasion, some monster might ambuses you and your team, thats why you should not walk alone (usually occurs near mini bosses/chest spawn map);
