Skill change suggestions

It's that time of the year to get disappointed with the lack of changes yet again. So here's few ideas of how Beastmaster's skills could be improved to make the class smoother to play and have more build variety

Bm can wield a staff but currently there is zero reason to do so. Here's some ways to make staff bm a bit more competent.

stafficon.png.f8524f70d177a0f0715deac26717d084.png  When wielding a staff, cast range of your skills is increased by 1 yard.

tree.png.bcaebd02a100cfb84df01b1be823d6a5.png When wielding a staff, instead of turning into a tree, you can place it on the ground. Cast range 5 yards.

Then some more general changes to the unused skills.

image.png MoonlightSlows the enemy down by P% for 10 sec. and deals the "Moonlight" debuff to them for 8 sec. The effect deals magical damage of D% of the character's magical power every 2 sec. Auto-attacks of the Moon monster update the duration of the effect.  After the debuff expires. the target is stunned for 1-2-3-4 seconds. If wielding a staff the "Moonlight" debuff is also applied to 3-4-5-6 targets in a 3x3 area around the target.

Nobody uses moonlight currently. It does less damage than aura and it's single target. With these changes you could put points into moonlight for less damage overall but with bit more control.

image.png Forest Symbol: Places the deadly vine in the specified area for 12 sec. Every 3 sec. the vine deals the "Earth bonds" debuff to the enemy within a radius of 2 yards for N sec. The effect chains the opponent to the spot and reduces the "Attack speed" parameter by P%. Reduces the resistance of enemies in the area by 10-15-20-30%. Amount of targets 3-4-5-6.

Bm has basically 0 debuffs on it's kit and this would add one to it. Currently the skill rarely leveled up because it's only useful in very small scale pvp.

image.png Return to the Roots: Orders the Moon Monster to return to the character and increases its movement speed by P%. The monster is invincible upon return. When returning, the monster removes D debuffs from the character, including control effects. For each debuff removed from the character, gain 1 second of immunity to debuffs.  If there is no Moon Monster, it removes A debuffs from the character, including control effects, and applies the "Tailwind" buff to the character for 6 sec. The effect increases the movement speed of the character by N%

Again one skill that is rarely leveled. Not sure that even with this buff it would be used but at least there would be a reason.

image.png Order to Attack: Forces the Moon Monster to attack the selected target for 10 sec. and deals the "Attacking beast" buff to it for 10 sec. The effect increases movement speed by P% and physical strength by D%. The effect disappears when the Moon makes a successful auto-attack. Instantly moves Moon Monster to the target. For each yard traveled, increase damage done by the next attack by 3-4-5-7-10%.   During the effect, the monster can attack at a distance of up to 12 yards from the character.

With the amount of running speed boosts and stuff on players, cat is just a passenger in dungeons etc. With this change cat would be bit more involved in the fighting instead of coming late to every battle. Would also add a gap closer with the combination of image.png Reunion.

A limiter would be useful here, because with the jump the cat can travel many yards, and the damage could be really high.

It’s up to 12 yards, but if the increase is 10% for each yard jumped, that’s 120%, and it would hit like a Ranger with Hail of Arrows, or even harder. The jump/teleport idea is good, I mentioned it in my own suggestions too, but this damage increase is way too high. Besides, using Order on enemies at close range wouldn’t be as effective as it is now. Keeping it at 40% as it is, or raising it only to 50%, is already enough.

This is so sad, there’s practically no reason to use it at all. To me, it’s mostly because the BM doesn’t have many instant abilities, only Lunar Touch and Chain of Lightning. And if he ends up using the Inspiration branch, he’d need to fight face-to-face with the enemy while using a staff, which is way less effective than using a mace in that situation. I think that for the staff to be used more, they should give the BM another ranged damage ability, replacing Moonlight, since it doesn’t have much usefulness nowadays.

I honestly wish it were like that all the time…:sorry:

The downside is that in situations where you want to use the tree to save yourself, if a ranger, a BD, or a chieftain hits you, the tree's healing alone is often not enough. Immunity is an essential part of it.

A desvantagem é que, em situações onde você quer usar a árvore para se salvar, se um ataque à distância, um cão farejador ou um golpe de pele te atingir, a cura da árvore sozinha muitas vezes não é suficiente. Imunidade é uma parte essencial dela.

I don’t like this skill very much nowadays, but that’s mostly just my opinion. I know the class only survives because of it, I can’t deny that, but it’s so boring in a GvG when your only role is to turn into a tree and stay AFK for 6 seconds. And since the Moon usually doesn’t survive in GvG, you almost never get the damage reduction.

I understand your point, which is why I think a talent would be a good option for this — you could enable or disable the feature as the content changes. In PvE, the tree that doesn’t restrict actions would be better, while in an arena, using a tree that makes you immune is already a better choice.

I like that. I started playing BM as a staff user because I liked the idea of a staff BM rather than melee. But the reality was that it was too weak. And I just stopped playing the class altogether lol.

But also in general I think the biggest thing that negatively affects BM is that 1) party buffs and castle potion don't affect the cat and 2) it is treated as a PvE monster.

1) If the cat received effects like heal potion, and party buffs such as warden's protection, Paladin's aura (and its candle talent). At the same time, I can see how challenging it would be to balance it. You're effectively increasing the party size by +1 for each BM, and the stat increase effects that are already on the BM would be doubled on the cat. But regardless, at least some effects should be gained by cat to give it a needed increase in survivability.

2) That makes it not abide by AoE skills that are limited in PvP. But most importantly, heavy mermen gear and some tanking skills, which are stronger in PvE, are giving a disadvantage to BM. I think this would be an easier fix.

I would also like to see cat's HP bar on the party list under the respective BM. That change alone would increase its survivability because then healers would pay attention to it, and make it possible to support it in a crowd with multiple BMs.

I like this part, but in that case, the range of some skills would need to be reduced when using melee weapons. That’s because some skills were designed under the assumption that ranged weapons could also be used. This would apply to Charmers and Templars as well.

Another thing as seen in catacombs, the aura dmg is negligible. I have seen it with different weapons and buffs, from max possible exhausting heat(not max till cap, but max possible for class to play without losing the heals or dmg) to using plain ferocity weapons, it takes whole time to kill 1 side mob, while the rest of party clears the whole room. the summoner is not a main support class- it has some role in dmg too, so make some changes to damage factors in pvp areas for aura, no issues with dmg in pve from aura. But, aura dmg on pvp monsters is bad in the least.

Beast Awakening

Summons the Moon Monster to fight for the character while active. The monster's base health is equal to 130% of the character's, and its Physical and Magic Defense equal to 130% of the character's. The monster has a base Physical Power that scales by 110% of the character's Physical Power and by 75% of the character's Magic Power. Every 5 auto-attacks, it deals damage to all enemies within 2 yards. The monster follows the character and attacks their targets, staying within 6 yards. The monster disappears when the skill is deactivated. Affects up to 6 PvP targets and 10 PvE targets. Inserted relics activate automatically with the specified chance, occurring at intervals equal to the skill's cooldown duration. Permanent skill. Leveling the skill increases the monster's damage, defense, and health, and reduces the number of auto-attacks required.

5 auto-attack for moon is too much, if ever 5 attack either player or moon count to activate the AOE

Moon Touch

Attacks the enemy, dealing magic damage for 140 plus 200% of the character's Magic Power, and applies Moon Touch for 6 sec, increasing damage taken from the Moon Monster by 15%. Leveling the skill increases its strength and damage

Hope it add physical dmg scaling

Order to Attack

The Moon Monster is ordered to attack the selected target for 10 sec and gains Attacking Beast for 10 sec, increasing its movement speed by 50%, Physical Power by 50%, and attack range up to 12 yards. The effect is removed when the Moon Monster successfully auto-attacks. Leveling the skill increases its strength.

Better if add trigger AOE attack

Cure

Instantly heals the Moon Monster for 15% of its maximum health and applies Cure for 12 sec, healing for 50% of the character's Magic Power every 3 sec. If the Moon Monster doesn't exist, the skill is applied to the character. Leveling the skill increases healing.

Hope add a heal lost HP

Chain Lightning

Nothing to be change balance

Bestial Rampage

Applies Rampage to the Moon Monster for 10 sec, increasing its Physical Power by 25% and Attack Speed by 30% and healing the character for 25% of the damage dealt. Leveling the skill increases its strength and effect duration.

10 sec it less short of a buff may be add +1 to +2 sec on talent

Soul Connection

Reduces damage taken by the character by 3.5% for every 10% of the Moon Monster's remaining health. Also heals the character for 2.5% of the monster's maximum health when the monster heals itself for 10%. Leveling the skill increases its strength and healing.

A good but useless passive to be honest, moon always tank the dmg and if no moon this passive useless, to much relying on moon

Forest Symbol

Conjures a deadly vine in the target area for 12 sec that applies Earth Bonds to up to 4 enemies within 2 yards every 3 sec, rooting them in place and reducing their Attack Speed by 25% for 4.5 sec. Leveling the skill increases its strength, the vine's duration, and target limit.

Maybe change reduce attack speed to reduce healing, how can attack a player if rooted only specific class range is usefull

Double Concentration

Applies Double Concentration to the Moon Monster for 25 sec. Every successful auto-attack under this effect will apply Beast Instinct to the character for 25 sec, adding 10% to Skill Cooldown and 6% to Critical Hit Strength and critical healing power. If the Moon Monster doesn't exist, Single Concentration is applied to the character for 8 sec, increasing Skill Cooldown by 35%. Leveling the skill increases its strength.

Make this passive

Moonlight

Reduces the enemy's movement speed by 30% for 10 sec and applies Moonlight for 8 sec, causing magic damage for 40% of the character's Magic Power every 2 sec. The shortest effect is refreshed with each Moon Monster's auto-attack. Stacks up to 3 times. Leveling the skill increases its strength and damage.

Add physical dmg scaling

Forest Aura

Applies Forest Aura to the Moon Monster for 10 sec, causing magic damage for 95% of the character's Magic Power to all enemies within 2 yards every 2 sec. The damage increases by 5% (up to 20%) each time the monster takes damage from auto-attacks or instant damage skills. If the Moon Monster doesn't exist, Forest Aura is applied to the character for 10 sec, causing magic damage for 95% of the character's Magic Power to all enemies within 2 yards every 2 sec. Affects up to 6 PvP targets and 10 PvE targets. Leveling the skill increases its strength, range, and target limit.

No comment but if ever add physical scaling too

Moon Blessing

Applies Moon Blessing to the character or ally for 30 sec, increasing Critical Hit chance by 16% and Penetration by 8%. Leveling the skill increases its strength and effect duration.

How this can be passive or have auto cast

Back to the Roots

Removes all harmful effects from the Moon Monster and commands it to return to the character, increasing its movement speed by 55% and making it immune to damage until it returns. Upon return, the Monster removes 3 harmful and control effects from the character. If the Moon Monster doesn't exist, 3 harmful and control effects are removed from the character and Tailwind is applied for 6 sec, increasing movement speed by 35%. Leveling the skill increases its strength and the amount of effects removed.

Hope it can use event you have already stun

Proximity to Nature

Applies Tree Cover to the character for 6 sec. While affected, the character cannot be attacked, move, use skills, auto-attack, or use items. The character and all allies within 3 yards also heal for 40% of the character's Magic Power every 1 sec and gain Forest Protection for 14 sec, increasing Physical and Magic Defense by 25%. Affects up to 5 targets (doesn't apply to the character and the Moon Monster). Leveling the skill increases the effect duration and healing.

Hope scale with hp lose

About skill talent hope moon can have lifesteal in general, only left talent have, mid and right is almost forgotten even mid talent buff don't matter lack of sustain, i don't ask too much but a little bit just to sustain and not relaying on cure skill, most of player use left talent to sustain moon alive, and worst is in pvp 🤦 no moon you die, i
