Administrators Ramona 292 Posted October 17, 2024 Administrators Share Posted October 17, 2024 Warriors! As Median Night creeps closer, Arinar braces for its darkest hour, when nightmares become reality and every rustle in the shadows hides real danger! Step closer to hear an ominous tale, but beware – winged shapes are already circling menacingly in the night sky... You are sitting by the fire, lost in a book, when suddenly a messenger pigeon swoops into the room. A letter drops onto the table... The handwriting is unmistakable, a chaotic scrawl that could only be the Barker's: "Hope to see you soon at the Horror Circus, old pal! This time we've landed on an island called Vogelville. Nice enough place, except for the birds – there's more of them than you can shake a stick at. Luckily, one of our crew is a local. Ever heard of Velius, the Mockingbird? Probably not. He's been keeping his skills under wraps... until now." Before you can finish reading, a giant raven flies through the window, another note clutched in its beak. Outside, somber birds are perched in the trees, their sharp eyes watching. "P.S. Bring something for headaches – and maybe a sleep aid. Sam Hain's been having nightmares every night, and I'm not sleeping much better either... This place is really starting to get under my skin..." The window bursts open again, and this time a massive owl swoops in. It hurls a letter straight at you, then settles on the mantel, its eyes locked onto yours. Meanwhile, outside, the trees are weighed down with more birds than you've ever seen... "Beware of the birds... They're not what they seem, especially the owls... Hurry here... Before it's too late... Your Barker." Holiday Island Step right up and welcome to Vogelville, a strange place where the dreams of Sam Hain's former showman have taken flight! After leaving the brightly lit starting areas, you'll enter a dense, eerie forest filled with towering trees, poisonous mushrooms, abandoned huts, and lurking dangers. Cleverly, a railway winds its way through the forest, leading you into the heart of Vogelville! At the center of the island, you'll find ramshackle tents and overgrown carousels, now nesting grounds for all manner of feathered creatures. It's been a while since this amusement park has seen visitors, but don't worry – the performers, from stilt-walkers to strongmen and fire-eaters, haven't been twiddling their thumbs! To find the real master of Vogelville's amusement park, head north – where a massive carnival tent stands waiting! This year, the pumpkin-headed Prince of Median Night is on the verge of a meltdown. Luckily, a longtime resident of Vogelville has offered to help, and you've been chosen to act as a go-between. Are you up to the challenge? While helping Sam Hain, don't forget to complete your daily quests! You'll have to repair broken scarecrows, hang dreamcatchers, collect bird feathers, awaken drowsy guests with smelling salts, and deal with troublesome barkers, illusionists, and jesters! And don't miss out on PvP brawls at the Dead Man's Grin Inn and skirmishes on enemy Alliance territory! Some daily quests will feature a dynamic leveling mechanic. You'll know when your level is scaled by the color of your level indicator on your character widget and equipment slots, a special icon right to your character widget, and a hint when you enter the area. Dynamic Quests Prepare yourself for exciting dynamic quests in Vogelville! Collect pumpkins to summon and defeat the pumpkin-headed mini-boss, fend off flocks of feathered invaders, and give those strength meters a solid whack! These dynamic quests have no cooldown and are activated when a shared activity counter, tracked by both Alliances, is filled through daily quests. Once activated, each quest will be available for 1.5 hours. Holiday Dungeons Vogelville is shrouded in secrets, hidden within its eerie, abandoned carnival tents. Cursed to remain in the form of sinister birds, the island's creatures will unleash their fury on anyone who disturbs their rest or dares to confront Volan, the Feather Fiddler. Only the bravest adventurers will survive his magic! Feather Fiddler Volan is a deranged tamer and sorcerer, with a collection of Vogelville's most terrifying birds in his tent. Rumor has it that deep in the hidden chambers of his lair, he keeps a giant monstrous bird that devours hapless adventurers who stray too far. In the shadowy depths of Volan's dungeons, every mistake comes with a price. The boss will occasionally summon his loyal minions, so be prepared to face these vicious feathered foes! Volan can also conjure totems – some may appear harmless, but ignoring them is dangerous. Make sure to heal the totems to avoid their devastating effects. Other totems will draw power from the suffering of their chosen victim, so be sure to destroy them quickly! World Event: Moss and Feathers The clamor and excitement caused by the arrival of Arinar's heroes in Vogelville have awakened the ancient Silvan from his deep slumber. But instead of rising in his familiar woods, he finds himself caught in a plot by the island's birds to seize control of the woodland. Now, Silvan faces a challenging journey home, with his hopes resting on the warriors of Arinar! Stage I: Dumpster Dive Awakened by the din of Median Night, the ancient Silvan couldn't resist a little fun at Sam Hain's carnival. But getting home won't be easy. The local birds have long held a grudge against Silvan, plotting to overthrow the Forest Lord and establish their own feathered rule. To sneak back into his thicket, Silvan needs a disguise made from the feathers shed by the forest creatures. Search the area for these feathers and help Silvan blend in. But beware, the raccoons won't let you plunder their treasures so easily! Stage II: Blinding Fog Silvan seems to have more enemies than he bargained for. Even in his feathered disguise, the hedgehogs have seen through him! They're furious, grumbling about how he feasted on their apple harvest. To block his path, they've conjured a thick magical fog. Capture the hedgehog mages, force them to break the spell, and defeat as many of their spiky companions as possible. Stage III: Tangled Traps The birds aren't done fighting for control of the forest just yet. They've set up nets to catch and trap Silvan. Act quickly – burn the nets and take out the pesky birds! Stage IV: Prideful Bird The mastermind behind the bird attack has finally revealed himself! It's Prideful Sarabaz, Silvan's old rival. He's launched a bold attack on Silvan, but the forest guardian is too weak to fight back. Protect Silvan and save him from Sarabaz's clutches! Tournament Guild Event in a GvG Area: Carnival of Souls A mysterious mist has descended upon Feather Isle, corrupting all its inhabitants – even the clowns. Once joyful and carefree, these circus performers have transformed into terrifying, bloodthirsty creatures. Now, they're plotting an assault on the island's residents, led by their monstrous leaders: the Carnival Arachnid, the Nightbreed, the Nightmare Jester, and the Mean Prankster. For the guilds of Arinar, the situation is no laughing matter. To claim victory, they'll have to defeat these red-nosed horrors of Median Night and outmatch their rivals, leaving no room for defeat! Rally your guild and rush to the Horror Thicket to battle deadly monsters, sinister circus fiends, and rival guilds for supremacy! On this spooky night, eerie laughter echoes from the depths of the forest, calling the guilds of Arinar to test their strength and courage. To win, you'll have to defeat rival guilds while also slaying as many clownish abominations as possible. The battlefield will be constantly shifting, with powerful enemies lurking in the farthest corners of the thicket. Be prepared for waves of monsters – some of them lightning-fast and tricky to handle. And, of course, you'll face the deadliest horrors of Median Night! Stay on the move if you want to score points and prove you are the true champion! Once you enter the event area, you'll find yourself in one of the war camps deep within the Horror Thicket. Nearby, you'll see a railroad track – you can follow it or cut straight through the dense woods to reach the corner zones where the real action awaits! Right from the start, three different activities will appear in these corner locations, each with a different level of difficulty and impact on victory: Kill one of four bosses Kill two mini-bosses Kill monsters Kill players in a specific zone Note that only one boss will appear on the map at a time, while the other two activities will spawn on the opposite side of the map from the boss. Every battle here is a race against time! The faster you complete each challenge, the sooner new activities will appear. To earn the most points, you'll need to stay on the move and follow the action as new activities appear! Boss spawns will be announced in game chat, and markers on the map will guide you to active challenges. Keep in mind, all monsters and bosses in the event will have PvP status, meaning they will factor in PvP player attributes. Your guild's goal is to outscore the other guilds by earning points through various activities: Kill a PvP monster, Laughing Carnie – 1 point Kill a PvP monster, Unruly Showman – 3 points Kill a PvP monster, Explosive Barrel – 4 points Kill a player – 5 points Kill a PvP monster, Clown Ripper – 10 points Kill a PvP mini-boss, Many-Armed Strongman – 250 points Kill a PvP mini-boss, Soul Juggler – 250 points Kill a PvP boss, Carnival Arachnid – 750 points Kill a PvP boss, Nightbreed – 750 points Kill a PvP boss, Nightmare Jester – 750 points Kill a PvP boss, Mean Prankster – 750 points The guild with the highest score at the end of the event wins! Radial Menu Update With the release of Update 12.6, the radial menu is getting a major overhaul! First, the Events button is being replaced with a new Activities button, giving you quick access to three key features: Events – Displays events available to your character. World Bosses – Shows information about available world bosses. Guild Raids – Provides access to raid functions when a Raid Season is active. Additionally, the Raid Bosses button has been renamed to World Bosses and removed from the Guild menu. Guild Raids Menu Features Raid features are easily accessed through the Activities button on the main radial menu. The Guild Raids window displays important details such as the time remaining in the current Raid Showdown, available Raid Energy, boss levels, recommended participants, and rewards for each difficulty level. Guild members with the rank of Leader, Right Hand, or Heir can start recruiting for a raid by clicking the Create Raid button. Please note that only characters level 20 and above, and guilds starting at level 2, can participate in raids. Remember that your guild can only have one active raid at a time. When you click Create Raid, a 10-minute recruitment phase begins. During this time, all online guild members who aren't currently engaged in an Arena match, castle siege, or dungeon will receive notifications about the raid – whether it's being assembled, a new participant has joined, or the raid has been canceled. Players must also be free from any active penalties, which we'll cover shortly. You can join or leave the raid party at any time through the Guild Raids window, during both the recruitment phase and the raid itself. However, if you leave an active raid, there's a 30-second cooldown before you can rejoin. However, switching guilds after completing a raid and receiving rewards during an active Raid Showdown will result in a penalty. This penalty will prevent your character from receiving raid notifications, joining raids, or starting new ones. This penalty may be temporary or permanent: The first time you switch guilds, you'll receive a 24-hour penalty. The second switch will result in a 5-day penalty. The third switch will result in a permanent penalty that will last until the end of the active Raid Showdown. The penalty timer starts when you leave the guild, and you'll receive a warning before doing so. Once the showdown is over, all penalties are removed. In the first Raid Showdown, your guild will have 6 units of Raid Energy per day – 3 will automatically replenish at 00:00 CEST (23:00 CET), and the other 3 can be manually restored. When the Raid Leader starts the raid, 1 unit of Raid Energy is consumed, and all participants are notified and teleported to the raid location. Note: You won't be able to use the Teleportation Scroll during raids! Guild skills such as Guild Invisibility, Guild Blessing, Resurrection, Guild Unity, and Guild Magic Orb will also be banned in the raid area. You will only have 10 minutes to defeat each raid boss, regardless of difficulty, so plan your tactics in advance and take the recommended participant note seriously! All players present at the raid location will receive rewards for completing the raid, and guild members who participate in at least one showdown and remain in the guild until the end of the season will earn season rewards. Depending on the type of reward, you'll either receive it directly or have it sent to your mailbox. Guild Showdown You can track your guild's ranking for the current Raid Showdown from a special window in the Activity Center! The leaderboard ranks all of the guilds on your realm based on their best raid completion times and difficulty levels cleared. The window also has a Menu button with the following options: Find Guild – Find a specific guild in the leaderboard. Showdown Rewards – View details about the showdown's rewards. Guild Raids – Access the Guild Raids menu and its functions. Showdown Results – See the top-ranked guilds at the end of the showdown. Competitive Guild Raid: The Jester King's Laughter As hinted in the developer diaries, a new challenge will unfold during Median Night... The first season of Competitive Guild Raids is launching soon, featuring two showdowns – the first with 10 difficulty levels, and the second with 15. Who will be your opponent in this first season? Rumors swirl through the bustling tents of Vogelville about a jester named Scarromo – a lunatic who has deluded himself into thinking far too highly of himself... Scarromo once entertained countless kings, leading him to believe that he ruled over all jesters! Sadly for him, luck was never on his side: None of his fellow jesters would acknowledge his claim to power, and his royal patrons have been dropping like flies. The last ruler to take him in was Velius. Perhaps the curse of the Jester King will bring him a cruel fate! Recently, Scarromo has made Vogelville his home, striking fear into the hearts of its inhabitants! The guilds of Arinar will face a daunting challenge as he wields forbidden spells and deadly curses. First, the Jester King must be stripped of his entourage, as his formidable minions are likely the source of Scarromo's terrifying invulnerability. While the boss may have tricks up his sleeve to summon them back, this presents a prime opportunity for a well-timed attack! Once stripped of his loyal followers, Scarromo will fly into a rage and fiercely defend his domain from the bold fools who dare to enter uninvited! The only way to escape his wrath is to find a safe haven. But driven by ambition, Scarromo won't hesitate to tear apart his own lair so every spectator can witness his moment of glory. You must stop him, as this is your only chance to withstand the final act against the bloodthirsty jester! In addition, from the sixth difficulty level on, Scarromo unleashes a torturous Hex on his enemies. The more this Hex drains the heroes, the more visible it becomes on a special scale at the top of the screen, unique to each player. Do not underestimate this insidious curse! Each unit of Hex will significantly weaken the abilities of Arinar's heroes! Even the most skilled priests will struggle to rid players of this affliction. However, there is a way to delay its harmful effects! Occasionally, mysterious portals will open in Scarromo's lair. No one knows where they lead or how they work, but one thing is certain: interacting with them seems to lessen the curse. Unfortunately, a single portal isn't powerful enough to lift the curse from every warrior... As you progress through each level, Scarromo grows stronger, making each encounter more dangerous and full of surprises. Choosing the right strategy is crucial, but the taste of victory is even sweeter as your rewards increase with the difficulty! Open-World Guild Event: Evil's Bloom Vogelville has fallen under the ominous grip of fungal spores, and deep within its decaying caverns dwell creatures whose terrifying power makes even the bravest of heroes tremble! The mushroom menace grows stronger with each passing day, and only those daring enough to venture into the darkest dungeons and face these mushroom-born horrors can hope to stop it. Rally your guild and prepare to end this plague once and for all! Fungal spores have infested nearly every dungeon on the island. The fungal network is held together by five fearsome beings known as the Forefathers and Overseers of the Mushroom Kingdom of Feather Isle. With their far-reaching roots, these creatures wreak havoc on all living things. It's time to root out the evil that lurks deep beneath the earth! Rootlash Myconid Rootlash Myconid is one of the chieftains of the living mushrooms that dwell deep within the caves. His fungal colony once fused with the roots of an oak tree, causing him to grow into a massive and lumbering brute. Ashen Amanethes Ashen Amanethes more than lives up to his name – he's pale as death itself and just as terrifying. His long, spear-like limbs drip with a deadly white poison for which there is no cure. Blightbearer Erysibos Blightbearer Erysibos is the ruthless leader of a fierce fungal tribe. His body swells with poisonous spores that he scatters around him. Inhaling just one of these spores is enough to send someone to an eternal rest. Treeward Mycelis Treeward Mycelis is steadfast and fearless. His body is clad in natural armor made of bark and fungal growth, impervious to both weapons and spells alike. Shroom-Sage Psilofyr Shroom-Sage Psilofyr is both a chieftain and a high priest. Having unlocked the ultimate mushroom wisdom, he has gained immortality and an unrelenting urge to exterminate all who are not mushrooms. Venture into the depths of Vogelville to hunt down these sinister mushroom creatures, each hidden within the five levels of underground caverns. The Overseers of the Mushroom Kingdom may appear fragile, but don't be fooled – they are deadly foes to anyone brave enough to challenge them. And remember, you don't have to wait for the event to face these hideous creatures – the mushroom masters are always ready for a fight! World Boss: Mockingbird Velius Velius's reign of terror over Vogelville must be stopped before his evil plan comes to fruition! But beware, the Mockingbird has long awaited his moment of glory and won't go down without a fight! Mockingbird Velius rose to power as Sam Hain's right-hand after the master of the Horror Circus fell ill under mysterious circumstances. Velius's mind is as twisted as it is brilliant, filled with strange and terrifying ideas. He wields mysterious power over the birds of Vogelville, though they may not be as innocent as they seem. How far will the ambitions of this feathered tyrant reach? Only time will tell. In battle, Velius will unleash the full extent of his dark magic. He has the power to cloud the minds of his enemies, slow their movements, and cast powerful spells that drain the life from anyone in their path. His loyal feathered minions will fiercely defend him, attacking anyone who dares to oppose their master! And not only is Velius skilled in offense, he's also a master of defense. With powerful protective spells that absorb most attacks, chilling rumors hint he may even have found a way to cheat death itself...
