Suggestions to Address AFK and Self-Defeating Players in PvP

  • Implement Penalties for AFK Behavior
Introduce an automatic detection system that penalizes players who remain inactive for an extended period during PvP matches. These penalties can include temporary bans from PvP or a reduction in rewards for a set amount of time.

  • Increase Consequences for Intentional Self-Elimination
Players who repeatedly self-eliminate or intentionally feed the enemy team should receive escalating punishments, such as temporary suspensions from PvP, deduction of their PvP rank, or restricted access to future matches for a set period.

  • Matchmaking Adjustments
Implement a reporting system where players can flag those who intentionally go AFK or sabotage the game. Verified reports could result in a lower priority for matchmaking or placing the offenders in a separate queue with similar offenders.

  • Reward System for Active Participation
Encourage more engagement by offering higher rewards or bonuses for players who actively participate in PvP. This could discourage players from going AFK, as they would be motivated by the potential benefits of staying active.

  • Three-Strike System for Repeat Offenders
Introduce a three-strike system where players who repeatedly engage in AFK behavior or intentional sabotage receive warnings. After three strikes, they would face more severe penalties such as a temporary ban from PvP activities.

  • Public Announcement and Transparency
Make public announcements regarding the changes in punishment systems for AFK and self-defeating behavior. Transparency will show that these actions are being monitored and dealt with, potentially deterring future offenders.

There are players who can't avoid this. Mainly, f2p players. What I mean by this is that they're match up against crowd control characters and they don't have any skills and relics to avoid this. In addition, potential low defense too. For example, up against a Rogue and a Seeker as a Priest or Necromancer. These two classes easily get stun and burst from these two specific opponent classes. Imagine how much it'll affect them while trying to grind for arena gear.

I don't deny the idea, but this will terminate the grind guild strategy to obtain AP with the win/lose spamming. As this is already the neutral method to gain ap faster since arena items are very expensive just for one item, and AP is very little rewarding. Unless you're a p2w player who can buy 1000s of tickets.
