Warriors!

The countdown to an epic adventure is on as Warspear Online is approaching its 16th anniversary! Heroes from both Alliances will soon be thrust into the epicenter of the celebration to etch their names into the chronicles of valor! Prepare to battle legendary foes and face new trials – let this summer be the season of unparalleled triumph for the warriors of Arinar!

Arena Update

The Developer Diaries have already given you an in-depth look at the big changes coming to the Arena in Update 12.4! Now, it's time to delve into the details of each new feature and share some insights into features that were not previously covered.

Story PvP Quests

In the second entry of the Diaries, we introduced you to the gladiators of the Chainless League, who have come to Arinar to mentor fresh-faced adventurers in Arena combat. With Update 12.4, new story quests will appear on the four faction islands and Irselnort! These quests will be available on Melvendil, Godgorrath, Langasard, and Moraktar once you reach level 6, with each starting island offering 8 unique quests. For Sentinels and Legionnaires who reach Irselnort, the Ashen Coast will offer an additional 10 quests, challenging them to stand against the enemy Alliance. As a token of honor for completing these quests, novice gladiators will be rewarded with rare-quality, level-adjusted PvP gear for each class.

Arena Menu Overhaul

Get ready for a more intuitive Arena experience with a redesigned menu that puts all the details you need about modes, rewards, and the current season at your fingertips! You can still access the menu by pressing the Arena button on the main radial menu, but the layout has been completely redesigned!

First, we're introducing Arena Types – a new way to organize both existing and future modes, sorted by the way their ratings are calculated. Update 12.4 brings in three different Arena types: Tournament, Brawl, and League. The Tournament type combines modes where character levels don't adjust within tier brackets, and rankings are determined by the amount of Arena Points earned. The Brawl type includes modes that adjust character levels within a bracket and ranks gladiators based on their total number of wins each season. The League type will feature modes for characters between levels 27-34, using a competitive rating system.

You can easily switch between different Arena types with the touch of a button. The menu for each Arena type now includes a breakdown of the rewards available – but be sure to check out the big changes to the Tournament mode rewards!

Brawl

  • Daily Rewards button
  • Season Rewards button

Tournament

  • Daily Rewards button
  • Season Rewards button

League

  • League Rewards button
  • Season Rewards button

The League menu also provides a clear view of your ranking status, showing your current rank, standing, and a progress bar for the next rank – unless you have already reached the top.

arena_menu_en.gif

You can join or leave the queue for an Arena match from any type menu, and the Arena menu even allows you to queue up for all types at once! You can also press To Battle from the results menu to queue up for any type you want.

All Arena types will feature a rotating selection of modes that change every 7 days during a single Arena Season. Each Arena Season now brings two rotating Tournament and Brawl modes, and four unique League modes that will not reappear throughout the season.

Arena Season Menu Overhaul

With the summer update, the Arena Season menu has also undergone a major rework! For starters, the Arena Season button has been removed from the Social section and can now be accessed directly from the main Arena menu. Pressing the Season button will display a ranking ladder specific to the Arena type you're viewing. Note that the ladder will now be consistent across all modes within a single Arena Season!

arena_season_en.gif

The Arena Season window displays the top 25 characters with the highest ratings. Next to each rating, a new icon indicates the calculation method used, whether it's wins, Arena Points, or League rank. Selecting a character will display detailed information about their rating and record of battles fought and won for the day, week, and season.

The My Rating button has been replaced with a rating block that shows the character's rating and their position on the ladder. This block will be visible to characters that have participated in at least one match in the selected Arena type and mode but did not make it into the top 25 gladiators. In addition, the Menu button now opens a radial menu that changes based on the Arena type and rewards available in it.

New Arena Type: The League

Dive into the League, our latest Arena type, which introduces a new rating scoring system, enhanced matchmaking, and an inventive reward system, all detailed in part three of our Developer Diaries. As you've learned from those diaries, the core of this Arena type is the dynamic rating system. Your gladiator’s rating will change based on the outcome of each battle – increasing with a win and decreasing with a loss.

Each character's League rating is displayed in the Arena and Arena Season menus, as well as when viewing characters in the location during League matches. After each match, rating adjustments are recorded in the Rating section, providing instant feedback on your League performance.

League Ranks

Bronze League – 0-999 Points

bronze_1.png Bronze I – 0-499 Points

bronze_2.png Bronze II – 500-799 Points

bronze_3.png Bronze III – 800-999 Points

Silver League – 1,000-1,999 Points

silver_1.png Silver I – 1,000-1,499 Points

silver_2.png Silver II – 1,500-1,799 Points

silver_3.png Silver III – 1,800-1,999 Points

Gold League – 2,000-3,999 Points

gold_1.png Gold I – 2,000-2,999 Points

gold_2.png Gold II – 3,000-3,599 Points

gold_3.png Gold III – 3,600-3,999 Points

platinum_1.png Platinum League – 4,000+ Points

In the League, the number of rating points you gain or lose is based on the rating gap between your hero's rating and that of the strongest character on the opposing team – and as you move up the ladder, you gain fewer points for wins and lose more for losses.

Keeping your place in the Platinum League is the real challenge, as your rating will drop by 2 points per day for every 50 points over 4,000 when you are not participating in League battles. This attrition rate will increase as you spend more and more days away from the battlegrounds. Ratings are updated daily at 00:00 CEST (23:00 CET), so even a single day away from the Arena can erode your rating. To maintain their rank, Platinum League gladiators are required to play at least one League mode match per day! We will monitor this mechanic's performance and make changes as needed.

With Update 12.4, we're introducing four League modes:

  • 2x2 Arena
  • 3x3 Arena
  • New Mode: 2x2 Retribution
  • New Mode: 3x3 Retribution

Note that the party size for each League mode is automatically set to the maximum number of players allowed for that mode. Only one Arena mode will be active at a time, and the modes will rotate every 7 days – giving you an entire season to try each mode!

New Modes: 2x2 Retribution & 3x3 Retribution

Immerse yourself in the exciting new Retribution modes, which pit two teams against each other in a fierce battle with a twist. In these modes, each player gets one resurrection chance during a match. Quick thinking and adapting to the battle environment are just as crucial as strategic planning – and the key to victory is to completely eliminate the opposing team after players have used their resurrections!

In Retribution modes, the Revive button is disabled, automating character resurrection 3 seconds after death. Dead characters will respawn at a random starting point with their health and energy fully restored, and for the first 5 seconds after respawning, they will also gain these effects:

  • Immunity to enemy damage
  • Immunity to effects from enemies and allies
  • Invincibility from being targeted
  • A 25% movement speed increase

These effects will end prematurely if the character uses any skill or attacks an enemy. A special icon next to each character's name and level will indicate an available respawn, visible to all players nearby.

League Rewards Menu

As detailed in the Developer Diaries, the League offers more than just rewards for individual matches and the season as a whole – it also offers special rank-up rewards! Each rank grants a one-time reward per season. You can view and claim these rewards by pressing the League Rewards button in the Arena menu or via the Arena Season radial menu.

Item Restrictions

Lastly, the updated Arena comes with its own set of new rules. During League matches, gladiators will not be able to use any of the following items: Lesser Purifying Elixir, Medium Purifying Elixir, Greater Purifying Elixir, Lesser Soulwandering Elixir, Medium Soulwandering Elixir, and Greater Soulwandering Elixir. Look forward to future updates that will include additional item restrictions and bans on certain effects.

Also note that you will not be able to teleport when using the Lesser Soulwandering Elixir, the Medium Soulwandering Elixir, or the Greater Soulwandering Elixir during the pre-match phase.

Arena Mode Adjustments

The upcoming Update 12.4 will refine the tier categories for Brawl game modes. The daily rewards for the following modes will also be adjusted to reflect the category changes.

5x5 Arena, 3x3 Crucible, 4x4 Crucible

And there's more! The summer update will introduce significant changes to the 3x3 Temple of Seals mode, adding even more dynamism to the gameplay! Seals will now take half the time to capture, and holding them will be more rewarding.

The respawn mechanic in the Crucible modes has also been tweaked. Fallen characters will now automatically respawn in just 3 seconds after death. In addition, resurrected characters will receive a 25% movement speed buff upon respawn to help them get back into the action more quickly.

Arena Achievements

The Arena is undergoing major updates, and with these changes comes an overhaul of its achievements. One notable addition is 20 new League achievements, including three legendary achievements!

We've also refined the requirements for existing achievements. The 2x2 Arena Triumphant and 3x3 Arena Triumphant achievements will now only be awarded for winning Tournament matches. Similarly, 5x5 Arena Triumphant and Crucible Triumphant will be tied to the Brawl, while Temple of Seals Triumphant will be available in both Tournament and Brawl matches. In addition, the Last Hero and Combo achievements will be exclusive to the Brawl.

The requirements for the 2x2 Arena Hall of Fame, 3x3 Arena Hall of Fame, and 5x5 Arena Hall of Fame achievements have also changed. Gladiators must now secure and stay in the top 100 ranking when the active mode changes, shifting from the previous end-of-season requirement. Likewise, the 2x2 Arena Champion, 3x3 Arena Champion, 5x5 Arena Champion, Temple of Seals Champion, and Crucible Champion achievements now require you stay first on the ladder when the active mode changes, replacing the end-of-season ranking requirement.

Weekly Guild Tournament: Ancient Chronicles

The guilds of Arinar are once again gearing up to compete against their rivals for valuable trophies! All guilds of level 2 and above are eligible to participate in the weekly tournament. Once the tournament begins, your guild will be placed in a division that matches its level, regardless of the Alliance – this ensures fair competition for Knowledge!

World Event: Hidden in the Sands

The mysterious Almahad draws adventurers from every reach of Arinar, all thirsting to unravel the secrets of its past and present... But as summer dawns, warriors of both Alliances must unite to stop the advance of Almahad's perilous denizens into Irselnort!

Stage I: Storm From the Past

The White Stones, ancient guardians of the past, have once again graced Irselnort with their presence, bearing visions of events from the far-off, mysterious isle of Almahad. The birthplace of human civilization and home to the first human state, it remains largely an impassable desert, plagued by sandstorms to this day. The White Stones have great power, blurring the lines of the past, and have summoned Almahad's sandstorms to Irselnort! Hurry to destroy the Whirlwind Elementals powering the storms, lest Irselnort becomes a barren wasteland!

Stage II: Quicksand Anomaly

The energies of the past are once again encroaching upon our present, animating quicksands on the volcanic soil of Nadir-Sard. Time is of the essence as you must fill these quicksands with stones to prevent the disruption of the Chainless League's vital trade routes. Seize the pickaxes from the cultists who worship the Black Sun of Almahad, collect stones, and toss them into the quicksands to thwart the impending disaster!

II STAGE.gif

Stage III: Flaming Rain

The White Stones have disturbed the Irselnort volcano, bringing it to the verge of eruption. The sky is ablaze with the fiery rain of stones, but there is still hope to prevent the impending disaster by dismantling the stone magic! Aid the obelisks in draining the magic from the air by defeating the savage gnolls drawn from the surrounding lands. Once the ancient power begins to fade, the volcano's wrath will ease, and the sandstone messengers from the Almahad's past will grow weak!

Stage IV: Primordial King

In the earliest days of human civilization, the first human state was ruled by a king who wielded the mighty artifact known as the Black Sun Circlet. Such is the artifact's power that it continues to influence the present through the White Stones. An ancient ruler who once held the artifact is on the verge of emerging through these stones to reclaim his throne! Harness the White Stones yourself and stop the King of Almahad before he regains his former power!

IV STAGE.gif

Tournament Guild Event in a GvG Area: Flame Forge

Once again, Snorlar, Volcano's devoted apprentice, has prepared a searing trial for the mightiest guilds! Having inherited his mentor's fiery wrath, he's eager to unleash it on the warriors of Arinar!

In the looming era of chaos and ruin, Snorlar, apprentice to the divine Volcano, beckons warriors for another guild showdown. The mission is clear – kill as many monsters as possible to prove your guild worthy of victory. Volcano's Swords lie dormant on the scorched earth, each one forged from the soul fragments of legendary warriors. Break a single blade, and you unleash a relentless onslaught of evil forces. Stand up to monsters and warriors from other guilds to pave your way to triumph!

When the event begins, your guild will find its home base in one of four war camps. To enter the fray, you can venture through two exits that lead to adjacent locations, or you can catapult directly into the action and land near the center of the map. The corners of the map are marked by the lairs of four formidable bosses: the Flame Spirit, the Fire Wyvern, the Sparkbearer, and Snorlar himself. The outer volcanic plains are a bastion of powerful monsters, while the central area is barren – ripe for your guild's intervention!

lava_map2_final.png

Filled with malice and vengeful rage, Snorlar has blessed the guilds of Arinar with the power to unleash devastating eruptions that will destroy life itself... Defeating the four corner bosses is the key to unleashing an eruption, which is where the excitement begins! In the midst of an eruption, survival is only possible in the center of the map, now swarming with formidable monsters – make your way to this sanctuary to escape the deadly heat and earn points!

To unleash a flood of monsters and earn a high score by defeating them, you must find and smash one of the three Volcano's Swords! But beware – destroying all three will stop an eruption and leave the central area desolate!

The eruption phase is also an opportunity to earn points by defeating enemy players, so defend your allies fiercely! And remember, during an eruption, the catapult will be the only connection from your camp to the heart of the battlefield.

GVG.gif

In the midst of battle, keep your main goal in mind! To ensure an outright victory for your guild, you must earn more points than the other guilds by performing the following activities:

  • Killing a monster in the outer circle – 1 point
  • Killing a monster in the center of the map – 3 points
  • Killing a player during an eruption – 5 points
  • Killing a Volcano’s Sword – 50 points
  • Killing a boss – 250 points

New Open-World Guild Event: Behind Enemy Lines

Little did anyone know that the resourceful people of the Chainless League would one day need the help of the heroes of Arinar! Complete the necessary requirements to activate the event and rush into battle against the eight fearsome monsters that threaten to wreak havoc on Irselnort!

The Chainless League reveres those who possess purity of heart and strength of mind and body, yet there comes a time when even they must seek help. As the guilds of the League traverse their paths, encounters with perilous creatures become all too common as the monstrous roars and clashing swords of restless warriors echo through the many corners of Irselnort. The League is in search of brave heroes to defeat the eight most fearsome creatures, overwhelmed by rage and madness. The quest is daunting, but the desert dwellers are known for their generous tributes to those who rise to the challenge!

GUILD EVENT.gif

The ferocious beasts of Irselnort have long cast a shadow over the Chainless League... Time and again, the merchants of the League have called for help – now is the time to answer their call! Take the monsters by surprise and defeat them! Save the people of the Chainless League from imminent danger and earn your place as a hero among the ranks of brave warriors!

Open-World Guild Events

Arinar's legendary raid bosses – the Avenger, the Demonologist, and the Beholder – are preparing for their vengeful return! Complete the requirements to activate each event and set out to bring these villains to justice!

Deadly Stare

A spawn of Chaos, the Beholder was once held captive by Berengar himself. With his disappearance, the Beholder was freed and now lurks deep within the caverns of Irselnort, poised to wreak havoc on the isle. Calling upon his kin in the Abyss, the Beholder has unleashed an invasion of Chaos upon the lands of Irselnort! The only way to silence his malevolent summons is to face the Beholder and kill him!

Flame of Wrath

An ancient dragon that once guarded the War Spear now bears the mantle of the Avenger. It bestowed its great fury and wisdom upon Berengar before taking eternal rest in the Hidden Sanctuary – but its enmity for Garahan was so deep that it found no solace in death and rose from the ashes as a fearsome bone beast. Lay this creature to rest in battle to restore peace to the Ashen Coast.

AVENGER.gif

Lost Soul

In a time long past, the Demonologist's pursuit of forbidden knowledge drove him to the brink of madness, forfeiting his soul in exchange for immeasurable power. He joined forces with Sam Hain, but was ultimately defeated and forced to flee to the one place no one would dare follow – beyond the Shadow Gates. With the threat fading, he has reappeared on Irselnort, taking refuge in a newly unearthed dungeon.  Only by meeting his end can the Demonologist's thirst for vengeance be quenched!

Keep in mind that even when there is no event active, raid bosses are still willing to accept your challenge.

Anniversary Achievements

As part of Warspear Online's 16th anniversary celebration, you'll have the unique opportunity to earn three new legendary guild achievements! Crush your enemies in the guild tournament in a GvG area and take down the event bosses – this is your chance to etch your guild's name into the chronicles of Arinar!

Activity Season 26

Gear up for the holiday thrills with the new Activity Season 26! The excitement begins shortly after the update goes live, so be sure to check out the Activity Center for a variety of missions and to track your progress. Battle Pass holders, you're in for a treat with a unique branch of exclusive rewards!

Irselnort Quest Adjustments

The release of Update 12.4 introduces new requirements for completing Irselnort's mini-boss kill quests. You will now be required to assist in killing these bosses, which include Marraksha, Restless Dinalt, Avenger Kratt, Bloody Fire Genie, Gariel, Granite Guard, Garr-Shagg, Lake Elemental, Sea Monster, Gridaur, Guntram, Drogon, and Lambert.

With the release of Update 12.4, Android 5.0 becomes the minimum supported version on Google Play. Users with devices running Android 4.4W or earlier will be able to download the app from the game's official website.

That's all for now – but stay tuned for more details on rewards, gifts, and other changes on release day!

The arena will soon be filled with afk from the opposing camp? I just want to know if the new arena update has changed the behaviour of using afk?

What's the point of all this? People are still going to win trade or afk.

We're going to wait in queue for hours because you still haven't made the arena free to enter. Why is an arena ticket even required?  The game gets worse each year. So sad man. I feel like zero progression is made.

Good luck to lifeless players who are going to stay platinum league. I dont have time for this bs. adios

Not sure if this is going to be implemented in this update or not but these days you have players with books and if they party with best class combinations they are going to be on top, they will also help their guild members be on top and together will control the ranks like how its going right now.

Suggestion: Make the arena matchups random so no one can choose their party. Lets see whos tough then.

Otherwise, there's no point in having a league. Solo players aka "Solo Queue" should have a fair chance to climb the ranks without relying on or competing against top guild players with books. Just a thought.

Every class needs to re-activate their permanent skills and gear passives before they even re-engage in the fight, if that will prematurely remove the immunity, then might as well not have it. It's pointless. I think it should be limited to attacking enemies or supporting allies.

Or change the arena system. Remove pot & scroll,  and non class books. Have a separate equipment system where you need arena gear only and make it easier to get arena gear. Limit the skill points to 3/5 & 2/4. Make it more skill base than p2w. Just an idea. I used to play FFXIV and that's where I got the idea from. Obviously, it's a different game. No need to quote me about it.

Aside invisibility, I think it's in Crucible right now, isn't it? You have to decide if you want to use immunity with stealth to stun enemies first or engage after all the preparations.

That one just means invulnerability, i.e. not being able to be targeted, I think it's mistranslated.

image.png.c37c11ebc6ec59d966482d58331f5ad6.png

So it's just like Crucible, which is already a very flawed design because it is very easy to instantly stun/kill people as soon as they get out of the immunity. If you opt to initiate by stunning, there is a good chance you might get resisted and it will be a wasted revive. It's even worse than Crucible because you only get 1 chance.

My point is, if they're gonna go through the effort to add a "comeback" mechanic, then why not go the full way.

My point is, if they're gonna go through the effort to add a "comeback" mechanic, then why not go the full way.

So it's exactly the same as the resurrection in the old crucible. It's just made to prevent spawn kill. I thought it was a new strategic mode.

This is a one-life Crucible mode.. xD

Do u think we have enough active players for that? If they do this arena will be dead.

its not about how many players, its about how many points they get, and same rewards for each divisions
