Expert skill: Steel hurricane

at level 1 -

 

the skill have base damage = 60.

and adds up  0.5*(physical attack)

 

so 500 physical attack will give you: 60 + 0.5*(500) = 310 expert skill damage.

 

this damage will be dealt to anyone within 1 yard from the dk.

 

if anyone wanna share how the skill works at level 2, 3 and 4...feel free to do it.

 

 

 

personnal opinions:

 

1 - once again death knight is left behind, if it was unclear before this new update, now i look at it as the worst class in game without second thoughts.

 

2 - about the skill itself, its weak unless the range increase within skill progress AND the damage increase GREATLY. if not, is just another DK skill worh nothing.

In fact...DK is a tank with highest damage output. With a perfect set, it can hold aggro as tank should be, not like other tank classes.

DK has 4 attack skills!!

1st & 2nd skills + 2 expert skills.

I plan to play my DK again because of its awesome skills

if you plan to use for boss tanking...take in consideration the 2nd skill is usually resisted by bosses, and the 2 expert skills at level 1 do TOGETHER around the same damage as bd hamstring do alone.

i wont say anymore about the reasons i believe DK reached the bottom of the classes hierarchy.

play the class, see for yourself and then share your opinion :)

 

edit: why would you drop paladin or bd to go dk? op classes dont amuse you? :!

bd have everything, only thing missing is a heal and he will be complete.

paladin new expert is for the lolz right? takes away 1.4k hp of every enemy within the range of 4x4 from the banner.

Why do you always bring up bds.

 

I have no clue why you think dks are shit. Atleast i roll bds faces to mud with my 1h dk. Full +7 beating way higher amps.

 

Dk has ridiculous dps for a tank class due to all the magical attacks.

 

is the worst class.

low damage on exhal, on death call, on steel hurricane.

worst stun, not even 2 seconds.

the only ONE defensive skill may or may not work, n when it does still isnt enough to at least say " hey, this works alright. "

 

meanwhile all other classes got buffered HARD on experts.

You always complain about the dk in a bit drastic way. You are like "Buhuhu, dk is the worst class, the 2 stuns and shitloads of dmg skills aren't enough, buhuhuhu."

 

because:

1 - there is only one stun, and this only one stun lasts exactly 1.6 seconds at any level of the skill. Exhalation of darkness it is, and it can be dodged, parried, blocked or avoided by running.

2 - death call does ridiculous (25 base damage + 25% of magic attack) x 4 at level 1. there is no reports about it at higher levels.

    exhalation of darkness requires 150+ magic power to do a decent damage.

    steel hurricane as described in topic is weak at level 1. but i also said:

which seens to be the case here, at least about the damage.

IF range also increases then finally i wont complain about a dk skill.

2 yards would be enought for me.

530 damage at lvl 3 is still a lot better than 330 at lvl 1 (if you have 550 normal damage).

so i can suppose it increases around 100 damage per level.

Well the range doenst bother me much.

I just wish it would  have a defuff too (like disarming the opponent for xxx amount of time) besides doing damage..

 

hm, this could be interesting, disable enemy skills for 1,2,3 or 4 seconds depending on skill level.

 

but i dont think they will ever give dk a proper stun.

 

threads is the one skill with most need of a stun effect on it yet all it got is a 1.4 seconds effect that avoids the person to move. (still can use skills, still can attack)

Imo dk design for 1h/shield to maximize the stun talent.

The setup is similar with pala with balance magic stat since dk can use mace now which is so damn strong.

Most ppl amused with high damage by 2h but they dont consider about how op block stat is and higher dps of mace compare to 2h.

Death call, steel hurricane is awesome dps if setup with perfect gears.

Set 1 death call if your magic low and set 3 on hurricane.

Although low damage on death call but it can be used to tank adds in dungeon.

DK with 1h can reach 160 magic while 220 with spear thus the death call damage need to be consider.

Plus the cd is only 14 secs.

DK is dps tanker for sure with perfect setup

Ive gotta say "steel hurricane" looks boring compared to other skills like paladins banner, shamans totem or rouges knives that brings gameplay dynamics, strategy options and building effects. Steel hurricane is just another "click" dmg skill with minimal AoE, Zzz. If you wanted to take blizzards classic barb-skill whirlwind, you could of done it alot more fun and interactive for the gameplay.

 

 

HOWEVER, while i feel like its boring its in not a bad skill in a game where a dmg skill can greatly increase a characters dps it can for sure be that extra punch makes the battle outcome in your favor.
