The complete guide to player interactions (Modified version-much better)

Featured Replies

Player interaction makes up for the best part of this game, in this guide I will inform the reader of interaction of players on the same and opposing team, since you will meet same team players first, I will start with that:

Same Team Interactions:

Ok, basically you will interact with players with white names, the white name means they’re an ally. This generally means you can chat, trade, friend, and guild them while not being able to hurt each other. Ally does not necessarily mean friend, so don’t expect everyone to be willing to help or be friendly. Here's a list of the possibilities:

:) 1. Chatting: To chat open up the player interface and press the MENU button on the bottom right corner of your screen. Chat will be in be right side in the middle and you will be automatically brought to the last chat you used, if you never chatted before this will be area chat. There are 6 types of chats that are offered for player interaction: guild, area, private, world, trade, and party chat. Guild chat is chat that is exclusively for your guild (see paragraph 2 for guild info), area chat is so anyone in your screen can hear you, private chat is directed toward only 1 player of your choice ( put a # then type their name, press space and type message), world chat is for anyone in you alliance to hear and its the only chat where you can not display your items or equipment an you have to be at least lvl  3 to use,  trade chat can only be done in places with respawn statues or in shops of area with the statues (this is for, as the name indicates, trading, its also for buying and selling) you have to be at least lvl 3 to use, and party chat is chat that only your party can hear ( look at paragraph 3 for parties). You can ignore someone so that you won't be able to hear what they say and they can not pm, trade( look at paragraph 4) or exchange with you. When someone chats their name is displayed before the text to identify the person chatting. Normal/pt/trade/world/guild chat names are a light orange and private msg names are a darker orange. Your friends will have green names.(see paragraph 5 for friends) Clicking on someon’s name when chat is opened will automatically open up the interact menu.

:drinks: 2. Guilds: This is where you, in a way, create more unity amongst players. All players in your guild will be seen walking around with a green name. Guilds can be strong and make a good name for them or be weak and generally be unknown. Every 2 weeks there are guild completion where guilds will compete to become the best. The very best guilds require a lot of player skill, but even more so, a lot of time, money, and dedication. Generally, daily quests, dqs, on Irselnort, the main island, will give 20 guild points, gp, from every quest. You can buy unity pots what give 2 times as much or greater unity pots which give 2.5 times as much gp.  If a guild wins they can get exclusive costumes or prizes that will take a long time to earn without winning the guild competition. If you are new, finding a guild may be tough, there are noob guilds, but they are either full, inactive, or not worth the effort of joining. You guild name is under your character name, displayed like . Guild chat is green and you will see the member with green names, but the chat in light orange if not your friend. To inv someone to a guild press menu and press interact on the player interface.  When you leave a guild you cannot join for another 6 hours and if you’re in a guild as a newbie you can not invite people. As and explorer you can inv people and take from warehouse, and an heir you can inv people, kick people out, take from warehouse, change message, change description, change guild name, promote or demote newbies and explorers, and level up guild attributes. As the leader you can do what the heir can but you can also promote people to heir, transfer your leadership position, and set limits or expand on what is allowed within the warehouse.

:yahoo: 3. Parties: This is where you can team up with people to achieve a common goal. It can range from killing an enemy player to farming, killing for expensive things, and  tough bosses. A party can have max 5 people and if someone in your party kills an enemy you needed to kill and your in the same area, you get the credit for it. People in your party will have blue names walking around and will chat in blue, but the name will be light orange if not your friend. Arena is also a popular thing to do(see paragraph 1 in Opposing team interactions). To inv people to parties you press menu and interact on the player interface, click or press a player, and select invite to party. You can not invite people who are already in parties (you will be informed if they are), you can’t inv ppl if you are not the party leader (is in control of who is kicked and invited, can transmit leadership to another party member), or if the player is busy. A busy player is one who is doing stuff like: exchanging, already getting invited to a party, repairing, buying  from market, or crossing over a screen. When you use a minion it will be displayed as a party member but will not be counted in the 5 ppl.

:good: 4. Exchanging: Commonly known as trading, this can be done in many ways. The most common methods are using the market and direct trading. The market is for people who don’t want to stand around all day trying to sell their item, so they put it on the market to do other stuff or log off. The market charges a small deposit for just putting the item on the market, this is not significant really at all, and it will charge a 10% fee after the item is sold for using the market. You can buy a market license to make the fee only 5%. Direct trading is where you can put up items, max 5 and as much gold as you have so another person can see it, one you both put up items you can see and determine how useful the trade is and reject it if its not to your liking. One small note, PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO WHAT THE OTHER GUY IS OFFERING! People scam each other all the time, most often by having a full bag and they will keep canceling and retrying the trade until you become impatient and anxious for it to be over, then they will offer up something of significantly lower value, if you fall for this, you have been scammed and it is perfectly legal to do, so pay attention. You can use the guild warehouse to exchange between 2 members of the same lvl 2+ guild.

:bad: 5. Ignoring: This is where you can completely get a player out of your business. You can not see the player’s chat, exchange with them, or get invited to parties or guilds by them. Once you ignore them they can remain on your ignore list forever! Even if they change their name it won’t help, you can take them off if you feel that ignoring is unnecessary.  People do however find ways around this and may make a lvl 1 just to spam chat you, if you ignore that they can make another.  An ignored individual will transfer across all of the characters on your account, so you only have to do it once. If you ignore someone you can still chat with them if they have not ignored you yet, so if someone ignores you it would be wise to ignore them as quickly as possible. To ignore someone press menu and interact on the player interface, click or press on the character and press ignore. There is no limit to the amount of people you can ignore. You can still be in a pt and guild of someone who ignored you, you ignored, or both. You can not friend and ignore someone at the same time, nor can you friend on one character and ignore on another in the same account.

:friends: 6. Friending: This is where you kind of show a nice attitude toward another player. You will always know if someone on your friends list is on when you’re on and someone who has you on your friends list will always know you’re on then they’re on.  This can also be a way to see if players you hate are on. If they ignore you then you can still friend them. Friends will have green names in chat to make it easier to find their chat. You can have max 30 people on your friends list. To friend someone press menu and interact on the player interface, click or press on the character and press friend.

:unknw: 7.  Other: You can help each other with quests, show off rare and or expensive valuables, and just walk around to see the other players, you walk through each other. A lot of people spend their time chatting, others farm, others kill the opposing side, others show off to make lesser players jealous, Just have fun out there!

Opposing team interactions:

:dirol: 1. Arena: Getting a certain number of allied players against another number, usually the same amount, and having a fight to the death. Your opponents can be of the same alliance, but in arena they are a temporary enemy. There is 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 with lvl ranges of 4-6,7-10,11-14,15-18, 19-20. These are not set in stone however, if all of your team is of the highest lvl in that division (6,10,14,18,20) you can face enemies in the next division if one is the lowest in his division (7,11,15,19) and his partner is the same level or one above (8,12,16,20). This may seem confusing I realize. Arena is popular and is mainly controlled by high amped rangers so if you want to be strong in arena make a ranger and amp it high. You can use certain things to boost abilities but only in the 10 seconds before the match starts. This can be using cards(increase dmg or heal), potions(increase skills), drinks(increase dmg or heal), or you can change your equipment.

;) 2. PVP: Player versus Player, this is where you go 1 on 1 with a player of the opposing alliance. You walk up to the red name player, do some type of skill that does not dmg the player or hinder his abilities (Warlocks can’t do this, they get an small advantage) and if the red name signals you kill each other. Health/mana potions are counted as cheating and others may kill you for it. There are not official rules of pvp because the devs don't care for it.

:tease: 3. Ganking: The most infamous thing in the game, this is where you kill an opposing player without any signal. There’s no rules really, its just kill everyone. If you are a ganker people will kill you on sight, so if you want to be good at this, you will have alot of haters and will get ganked in return. Ganking can also be a way to show disrespect or even hatred toward another, if someone annoys you, ganking him is a common method for revenge. Lots do gank, I don't personally and don't usually hold grudges on the ones that gank me because I can usually get them later. Either way you will have to be strong or you will fail miserably and still be hated.

:diablo: 4. Wars: This happens in 1 way generally, one side is pissed at the other for ganking and sends a large group at the other's camps to kill as many as possible. Wars generally start small and build up to be larger and larger which consists strongly of sending wave after wave of players back an fourth meeting the opposing wave, usually at a screen boundry, and they usually end very suddenly, people get bored or annoyed. Great fun, usually last about 10-30 minutes. Easy to start too, just bring a bunch of people to kill a bunch of the opposing team outside of pvp. This works especially if you a popular player with alot of influence.

:unknw: 5. Other: Don't be surprised to see a player of the opposing alliance walking around you area, just kill him and get on with whatever you’re doing.

Another thing:

Thanks for viewing my guide to player interactions, this game is so huge, a full game guide will be way to long, 20k+ words (this one being around 2250), so like I said I wanted to help with the, in my opinion, most valuable information that one can give to a rising players, if you have any further questions you can message me on forums or ask my blade dancer, bd, shaman, or mage on US Sapphire. The names are: Bd = Carpetlick, Shaman = Overloard, and Mage = Rainofire. I can also help with stuff unrelated to this topic as long as it pertains to the game. Good luck out there, I hope you have great fun. :) :) :) :)
