Yep, little action and a hell of a lot of diplomacy, but that little action is executed so perfectly, and with such meticulous attention to detail that it brings a grown man to tears :  so great that it makes the diplomacy worthwhile.

(over exaggerating)

8/10 for me. It would be 9-10/10 if they diled down the diplomacy.

luckily there's a second series, i have a feeling this first series was to establish themselves and get used to their situation before undertaking any overly massive actions. Without all the slow paced learning and diplomacy i dont think they could survive long. I suspect the next series is gonna get more into the action. Massive wars, crazy fights... Cant wait!  :D

Greetings! Welcome to Aze's Anime Recommendations.

Today I finished "Hitsugi no Chaika".

The protagonist, Toru, is gathering stuff for dinner in a forest, because he's jobless and poor. There, he encounters a girl named Chaika, carrying a huge coffin on her back. Chaika is a rifle wizard, which means she's an ordinary wizard who casts spells, but instead of a staff, she uses a sniper rifle. Chaika offers him and his sister a job in recovering certain things from 8 heroes all around the continent. Being a honorable gentleman, and because he's without a job anyway, they embark on a magical journey!

Yeah that's what Chaika is about.

It's a really enjoyable action show, with very interesting characters, great pacing (well, there were 1-2 filler episodes, but they were very interesting), tons of fights, and even a bit of gore (for example, animals being torn in half).

The OST is really nice, has some tracks I might listen to while playing videogames later. And both OP and ED are really great, I haven't skipped them even once.

Last episode exceeded my expectations in few moments, and in the final minutes my jaw literally dropped. Season 2 hype.

And Chaika is hella adorable. Mwee.

My HDD is formating so I might as well review anime I've been watching this season. It's not everything I've been watching, just things I found great and worth sharing.

I'll try to avoid mentioning stuff from episodes other than first three, to keep it relatively spoiler-free.

The list isn't really listed from my favorite to my least favorite, it's more of a random order where I wrote title and 1-2 sentences when I had an idea what to write.

Kiseijuu (Parasyte)

An ordinary high school student, Izumi Shinichi, lives a normal life, hangs out with friends, does well at school. One day, a mysterious parasite takes over his arm. As a result, it can now talk, stretch, separate, and even turn into steel blades. This wouldn't be so bad, if only other people didn't get attacked by parasites too. Most of them didn't have that much luck, and parasites took over thier brains. Which lets parasites completely control bodies. Also, their diet consists of human meat.

This is one of my favorites this season. Maybe you're familiar with studio Madhouse? They made some popular titles, most recently No Game No Life.

The plot is as explained above. Parasites emanate special wavelengths, that other parasites can detect. As a result, Shinichi "easily" encounters them. Most of the times, that results in a fight.

Action scenes are done really well. Not a lot of talking, it manages to show off what parasites are capable of - flourishing blades accurately at very high speed. Blood happens, but it's neither a single bloody cough, nor a literal geyser of blood. It's just real.

Shingeki no Bahamut

So, this is pretty interesting. The main character is Favaro, a Bounty Hunter. Basically he hunts wanted people. One night when drunk he meets a girl who overheard him talking about his great adventures, and asks him to escort her to a really distant place. Being drunk, he accepts because you don't refuse cute ladies. And then it turns out that girl was a demon and turned him into half-demon until they arrive.

This is really nice setting. It has this western (as in, like movies with Clint Eastwood) feeling to it.

Art is gorgeous, people are ugly and realistic, sceneries are stunning, hell yeah.

This, and Parasyte, are the two "shows for normal people", which you could watch with your friends who don't usually watch anime, and not be called a total loser.

Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru

This show. THIS SHOW. It's fantastic, probably my favorite of this season. Why? Well, for a multitude of reasons, that I sadly can't tell you because they happens after first three episodes I promised to talk about.

So let's focus on first three episodes. Four middle school girls are members of "Hero Club" which focuses on helping other people - puppet shows for grade schoolers, finding homes for sheltered cats, picking up trash, etc. Until one day time stops and a forest starts growing out of nowhere. In there, a huge monster starts shooting at them and wrecking chaos. They find out their phones have a function which can turn them into magical girls, giving them the power needed to fight that monster. They manage to beat it and resume their peaceful lives. Until of course, more monsters come.

And that's all I'm going to tell you. Something interesting happens in episode three, but I'll let it surprise you, because it's a pretty amazing thing.

Soundtrack is just amazing. It has everything - hype battle themes, use of varied music styles, even chanting. It really adds well to the atmosphere.

The action scenes are intense, because of bizarre method to successfully kill monsters. On the other hand, slice of life parts are relaxing and adorable, it works like a medicine for my tired soul.

But yeah, that's all I can say. I'd buy BD if I had money for that, but I'm poor as duck and shipping fees are painful. Watch it, it's late bloomer, and first five episodes, while really great, don't really show what's going on in reality (preview gives you a vague hint). I am ready for final episode on December 25th, let's hope I don't get suicidal urges after Takahiro and Kishi ruin save Christmas once more.

Ore, Twintails ni Narimasu

Okay, get this: it's like Power Rangers, but main characters are girls in skimpy suits, who attain their power from their love for twintails, and villains are humanoid-animal-aliens that came to Earth to rob us of our fetishes. That's all.

I don't know what else to say about it. It's just such a brilliant premise, it never fails to entertain me and make me laugh. The villains might sound weird at first, but they are like heroes for me, especially the ones I share tastes with.

It's visible the budget for this show is low. At some moments the art is horrible it makes me laugh. Which is a real shame. However, the scenes that matter are animated really well.

Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de

This one, with above two, is my top3 - shows that I can't wait for every week. Or rather, only three shows on this list that I have watched every episode of so far (school sucks, yo).

So what's special about this one? A highschool literature club one day gets super powers. Their lives continue like usual. In episode 9 there is some action where characters fight using their powers. After that they go back to normal again.

This is harem show, but it's quite unique. The main character is likeable as hell, despite being chuuni he's surprisingly mature and responsible, and wins a girl in second episode.

I'll mention art here because it's done by Trigger. You know them? The people who made stuff like Kill la Kill and Inferno Cop. It's a pretty good art.

Hitsugi no Chaika S2

My dear Chaika. It ended last week. No more Chaika ever.

I could tell you how amazing it was, but hey, I already did it in this thread before. And before you watch this second season, you should watch first season.

Danna ga Nani whatever

It's a show about an otaku, and his normal wife. It's pretty fun, and every episode is only 3 minutes long. It's worth a shot just for the reason it's only 3 minutes.

And that concludes my review. Other tops that are worth mentioning but I don't know what to say about are Nanatsu no Taizai, Garo Honoo no Kokuin, and Amagi Brilliant Park. Second seasons/cours I heard good things about but haven't finished first seasons yet are Log Horizon, WIXOSS, Psycho Pass, Mushishi, and Akame ga Kill.

Hello gaijins.

I'll be streaming 11 episodes of Yuuki Yuuna tonight, 1pm PST/9pm GMT. Runtime will be 4.5 hours.

It's a really nice series, you'll enjoy it. Got into detail a bit more just two posts above.

Well, stream ended. We reached like 110 viewers at the peak. It was fun, laughs were had, tears were shed, now I'm going to bed.

Didn't spot any familiar nicknames, which is a shame. But it can't be helped, I should've posted this sooner, maybe even a day before.

Still, it's worth watching, give it a shot one day.

Lord Gaara (also known as Gaara of the sand waterfall), 5th kazekage, leader of the sand village and jinchuriki to Shukaku was defeated by a "blind 12 year old" girl. Deploy the ANBU black-ops and hunt this little [insert Profanity] down!!

Seriously though, they've yet again butchered another anime character. They weren't satisfied with wrecking Majin Buu so they target Gaara. This battle was blasphemy, they did very little research on gaara and the naruto world. Yes yes, toph is the strongest earth, metal and mud bender in the entire avatar world, but she cant bend chakra damnit!!   :shout:

the little girl was cheating anyways lol.

if you watch the anime you will notice that the little girl can't see a person when its flying.

When gaara started to fly with his sand she just saw him like if she wasn't blind.

Why would you people watch 18 minutes of this fanmade blasphemy.

And she could hear the sand grinding.

You should watch the other one about Charizard,Blastoise and Vynidk fighting.

Nah that's not the problem, she can sense the earth even if its not touching the ground. The problem is that she can bend gaara's sand even though its infused in is chakra. Chakra can only be controlled and used by people skilled in ninjutsu. The other thing is that she's an average human, her only strength and power is through the manipulation of the earth, she cant compete at the same physical capacity as ninjas (who disappear in a blur when they're moving because they're so fast). They neglected to include his basic ninja   training  like making sand clones and taijutsu (hand to hand combat skills). pff, they piss me off :nea:

Depends on what you're looking for. There is a lot of "school battle harems" of varying quality. One criteria that could distinct this one from others, is the amount of fighting going on. Which is really low.

The one that I think is most similar to Inou Battle, would be Chunnibyou demo Koi ga Shitai. It's almost the same, except the superpowers aren't real, and characters try to act like they are.
