Phosphatase got a reaction from vavavi in Best Tree Ornament ~ Punakaali ~ EU-EmeraldHere is a rage amulet found from a dungeon. Slight pulses of heat can be felt when touching it.
Perhaps it was crafted by a beginner elf blacksmith. At least that can be assumed when looking at it.
Maybe it's better to use it just as a tree ornament rather than as a source of power?
The ingredients used:
Resin from spruce
Aluminum foil
Turmeric powder
Sewing thread
Droplets of resin were collected by me. Then they were mixed together and shaped into a disk.
A strand of aluminum foil was wrapped around the disk while inserting the thread.
Turmeric powder was then spread onto the disk to give it orange color.
The resin disk was very sticky, so no glue was needed.

Phosphatase got a reaction from neku in The true boss was greed ~ [Sauron, EU-Emerald]”This could only happen in Arinar during the New Year’s celebration,” lamented a World Creation knight sent on an important mission by White Beard himself. The situation was tense as the warriors from the other islands had sold all the collected north runes to some rich person of unknown origin. Indeed, the snow elves were in constant danger if the magic of the north runes was not protecting them. For this reason, the knight was tirelessly searching for that scoundrel.
After a while, the knight finally found a suspicious rich-looking person.
”You there! Hand over the north runes, now!” the knight shouted.
”Nope, I paid a fair price from them!” the person responded.
The knight then unsheathed his fir-tree sword, but the person quickly said: ”Wait! I’ll give you the runes, but I also have a special offer for you.”
The knight calmed down and listened.
”I noticed that the weapon you are carrying with you is quite rare,” the person said. ”I would like to offer a pouchful of gold coins for it.”
The knight was happy that violence could be avoided, and the offer was also good, so he accepted it.
”Stop! You are being deceived!” shouted someone suddenly. An elven sorceress came running and told the knight: ”I’m so sorry, my Grinch minion stole my old staff and ran away.”
The knight was confused, but when he looked ahead, there was abruptly a grinning Grinch with an empty pouch.
”There was never money, just illusions,” the sorceress said. ”Please, allow me to deal with my minion and retrieve the runes.”
After handing over the runes to the knight, the sorceress once more apologized and then teleported the knight back to the Snow Elf Village.
Back in the village, the knight rushed to White Beard who, after hearing everything, gathered the residents of the village together to sort out the situation. Indeed, money had suddenly started to disappear from the people’s pockets, and there was unrest in the air. White Beard calmed the listeners and scolded those who had fallen victim to greed thus endangering the peace in the village.
White Beard thanked the knight for preventing chaos and said to everyone: ”Since you all owe to this man, he’ll receive all of your reward money!” The inhabitants of the village had ashamed expressions, and no one dared to complain, but to White Beard’s surprise even the knight seemed ashamed.
”I am no worthy of such a reward for I was blinded by the glimmer of money too,” the knight said.
White Beard understood what the knight meant, but he calmly shook his head and told the knight: ”Trust me, my experience in detecting who is deserving and who is not is comparable to none, and in you I could sense innocence of special kind.”
The knight understood and promised with teary eyes that the received money would bring joy and happiness to everyone in the Snow Elf Village. And so the New Year’s celebrations went happily on.

Phosphatase got a reaction from Drakoslayd in Punakaali, EU-Emerald, PoemFrom where does joy originate?
To give this mystery some light
let’s recite a spell while we wait
about the deep origins of delight:
”The joy came from something bright,
from wars won, from battles glorious.
It came from unexpected rewards and
from lively events that made us happy.
It is born even for the guild placing 15th
and soon it will arise for the anniversary.
Its origins are in a jewel called Warspear
so let us rejoice when we are all Online.”

Phosphatase got a reaction from PhoenixFire in Non-class skill books and what you should know about them - (Sauron, EU-Emerald)Non-class skill books are expert skill books which any class can use. Although, unlike ordinary expert skill books, these skill books can not be upgraded. Most of them grant only small improvements but few of them are actually quite powerful. At the moment, there are 73 non-class skill books, 70 of which are passive and three that are active. The only requirements to use these books are a character level of 18 and an empty combat kit slot which means that these books won't consume the space meant for normal expert skill books. Every character has 15 combat kit slots in total, but there is no limit to the number of books a single character can have in an inactive form. Non-class skill books can be obtained by killing raid bosses, participating in guild events and completing dungeons during seasonal special events. Some books can also be obtained from physical chests that require special keys. Non-class skill books are more than rare but they are also worth of millions which means that if you ever happen drop one and sell it, you won't have to worry about gold for a while. If you drop one of the passive skill books, you must decide, will you use it, sell it or trade it. It all depends on how much gold you really need. Everyone needs gold but do you feel like you are weak and can never buy any proper equipment due to the lack of gold? If so, then you should sell it as 2.5 % stun or 3 % critical hit chance won't really make you any stronger but good armor and weapon will. If you already have decent gear and you are not in the constant need of gold but your gear isn't +10, then you should think, will the book raise some parameter that you really need or can you even use the book properly? For example, the Book of Rampant Attack might not be the best choice for a druid and the Book of Secret Power of Vampirism might not be the most useful book for a character with 3500 hp. If the book is useful, then you can use it but if it's not, then you could either sell it for gold or trade it for a more suitable book.
This is the end of this guide! I hope this will be useful to you.

Phosphatase got a reaction from Renato Sousa in Non-class skill books and what you should know about them - (Sauron, EU-Emerald)Non-class skill books are expert skill books which any class can use. This guide valid for the game version of 13.3.3.

Notes: This book is personal which means that it can't be given to other players. If you don't need this book, you can sell it to an NPC and receive 10000 gold.

Phosphatase got a reaction from TheCaster in The puzzling signs of imperishability: a review - [Sauron, EU-Emerald]1. Introduction
Here, even in our academy, the signs of imperishability are a common sight. They are most often used during risky amplification processes where the magical energy stored in special spheres is conducted through the signs of imperishability to various objects to prevent these objects from disintegrating [1]. The most common objects that are being amplified are different types of armors, weapons and accessories but also important documents and such are being amplified to protect them from damage. Even other humans have been tried to amplify, although, these experiments have ended terribly even when signs were used [2]. However, no one really knows how the signs of imperishabilty actually work even though this subject has interested many. The purpose of this review is to investigate what has been written and what is known of the signs and, possibly, also understand the mechanisms behind their way of acting.
2. Studies regarding the signs of imperishability
Master Berchtwald von Beleswelt writes in his tractate The mystery of the signs of imperishability: How are they created? that as the crafting methods of the signs of imperishability are known only to the craftsmen of Almahad there has been multiple attempts by the masters of Academy of Magic of Altgard to create their own signs but unfortunately these attempts have all failed [3]. Master Berchtwald, who took part in one of these said attempts, writes that even though they were able to replicate the structure of a sign of imperishability they couldn’t figure out which materials were used to create the original signs. Thus, the replicas they made broke prematurely during the amplification process and couldn’t protect the target items or if they didn’t break, they just absorbed the magical energy instead of conducting it forward [3].
Interestingly, alchemist Teresan writes in his research report A research on the properties of various rare minerals about a certain mineral called ”zaubelite”. Said mineral has both great durability and great conductivity of magical energy which means that it could be one of the materials used in the signs of imperishability [4]. However, zaubelite is quite rare and somewhat unstable mineral meaning that it can’t be the main component [4]. This seems to be clear especially when the amount of signs sold by the merchants of Chainless League is taken into account.
Nevertheless, the signs of imperishability are not just mere triangles made of some mineral. This has been proved by druid Dael-Wenn in her recent study The new revolutionary uses of the signs of imperishability: staves where she experimented the use of signs as staff building material. As one could expect, the staff heads made of reforged signs of imperishability fell apart after first spellcast, similarly to what happens after amplification to normal signs, but at same time they were incredibly effective at conducting the magic power of the caster [5]. However, what is interesting is that certain types of magic were altered when cast through the experimental staff heads which has been reported before to happen only when the staff heads were imbued with magical power beforehand [5, 6]. This means that the signs are indeed modified with magic. However, Dael-Wenn was not able to determine the purpose of this magic nor remove it [5]. Perhaps it’s used to strengthen the properties of the signs of imperishability or perhaps it causes the signs to break up after the first use or perhaps its purpose is to do something else?
3. Conclusions
The reason why it would be important to understand how the signs of imperishability work and how they are made is that if we were able to figure those out, we would be able to produce our own signs of imperishability which would allow us to amplify our warriors for a much cheaper price granting us an upper hand in this war. There are also other possibilities, for example, if we found a way to remove the modifier spell and it turned out that the purpose of the spell was to make the signs to break up after one use, we would be able to modify the signs we buy so that one sign could be used multiple times before breaking up which would allow us to buy less signs or alternatively amplify more. On a side note, this would allow us to use the experimental staves developed by Dael-Wenn much more efficiently as well.
Studying the signs of the imperishability can easily be lucrative work and thus more resources should be directed to this sector. At the time when the replica signs of imperishability were crafted in Altgard’s Academy of Magic there was no knowledge about the modifier spell in the signs meaning that now the research could just begin. Anyway, finding a way to remove the modifier spell should be prioritized as doing so could be a great success or at least it would give us useful information about the nature of the spell. However, as none of the above-mentioned methods is guaranteed to bear fruit, the possibility of organizing an expedition to the lands of Almahad should be considered as well, as the craftsmen of Chainless League have all the answers regarding the signs of imperishability.

Phosphatase got a reaction from Dart in Non-class skill books and what you should know about them - (Sauron, EU-Emerald)Non-class skill books are expert skill books which any class can use. This guide valid for the game version of 13.3.3.

Phosphatase got a reaction from Higgings in The puzzling signs of imperishability: a review - [Sauron, EU-Emerald]1.

Phosphatase reacted to Gladiator in The puzzling signs of imperishability: a review - [Sauron, EU-Emerald]I absolutely love this very creative approach! As someone who has read a lot of research papers and reviews, this really reminiscent one. Very well done!
Good luck publishing your review in the very reputable "Arinar's Journal of Alchemy and Magic"

Phosphatase got a reaction from Gladiator in The puzzling signs of imperishability: a review - [Sauron, EU-Emerald]1.
Phosphatase got a reaction from MastaJedi in Non-class skill books and what you should know about them - (Sauron, EU-Emerald)Non-class skill books are expert skill books which any class can use.

Phosphatase got a reaction from Mooh in Non-class skill books and what you should know about them - (Sauron, EU-Emerald)Non-class skill books are expert skill books which any class can use. This guide valid for the game version of 13.3.3.

Phosphatase got a reaction from Ogull in Death Knight - Complete Skill Analysis and Mechanics (v11.2.0)I put those numbers in a coordinate system and noticed that they form lines and based on those lines I got the following formulas:
Shap shadow lv1:
(848*x+52383)/599=y
lv2:
(938*x+91762)/599=y
lv3:
(1029*x+124517)/599=y
lv4:
(1150*x+146039)/599=y
where x=mdmg and y=Sharp shadow dmg
These formulas don't seem to always give 100% correct answers but I hope this helps anyways.

Phosphatase got a reaction from Akasha in Non-class skill books and what you should know about them - (Sauron, EU-Emerald)Non-class skill books are expert skill books which any class can use. This guide valid for the game version of 13.3.3.
