    great build guide!

i understand the use of spring accessories for cd, but why use golden dawn set instead of arena set? if this build is mana hungry a combination of both mana regen PvE set and arena would be better, or crafted snow set for some resistance

    Important
Some of the numbers mentioned in the post are the result of testing skill and may not represent the actual number of the skill. numbers colored in Purple are highly doubted and needs more testing to figure out better. special thanks to @Akasha for helping make this guide possible, Thank you very much!. if you find any spelling or number error, please do tell me to fix it.

Ogull reacted to Manthra in NEW SET - ETERNAL DREAM (FULL STUN)
A few years ago, the death knight was known to be one of the strongest tanks in Arinar, today unfortunately we could not say the same, since thanks to the nerfs he has become one of the weakest characters in the game. overwhelmed by the druid's stun the death knight now has a better chance of fighting this. That is why I gave myself the task of devising the best possible strategy to bring him to glory again, I present ...

    ETERNAL DREAM SET

Relics: These Relics will help give you a better chance of stun the enemy, in case your stun somehow misses the mark.
It is recommended to use the aggression skill for its low cooldown and for the relic that suits you best.

Skills: For this set, we will completely need stun skills, so my recommendation is as follows.

The more this skill is improved, the more stunned the enemy will be. very important to equip the relic to extend the effect, You will have a better chance of saving the blow loaded with the exalation in case you miss.
    exhalation 5/5 + continuous effect
silence stroke 1/4 (lvl22) If you are of a more advanced level you do not need to improve it further.
sharp shadow 4/4, (equipping a stun set adds even more chance to stun. Example: sword 5% + shield 5% + skill 80% equals 90% chance to stun)

Accessories: Thanks to the accessories from the spring event, we can further improve the cooldown of the skill, making these items indispensable in the construction of the set. I've got most of them so far, but I'm still missing level 22 rings, while keeping level 18 rings. I share some images. It is also very important to equip your rings with skill cooldowns.

This part is very important, because the death knight has enough energy recharge, it is essential to equip a belt with cooling capacity but with an energy recharge crystal to balance the equipment and not run out of energy at any time.

We also added some skill cooldown to our common armor.

now let's see the skill cooldown we gather.

In total, our cooldown will be enough to start an infinite loop of stun, at best you could kill an enemy without taking a single hit. Here I show you what this powerful set is capable of. and all this without the need to use weapons with skill cooldowns. remember to set the video quality to 420p

With the desire to return the glory to the death knight, I say goodbye, wishing you a good game and happy holidays.

Ogull got a reaction from Khrone in Death Knight 101 - Dark Shield
In this topic i will be talking about the many mechanics and behaviors of the death knight skills
In this one i will be talking about dk most iconic skill Dark Shield

As the skill describe, with some chance it ignore damage in accordance with your defense
leveling the skill does not increase the amount of damage the skill ignore, but it only increase the chance for the ignore to happen
when activated the skill will calculate your armor and give you a buff that ignore damage in accordance with that armor value

now the real catch with this skill is that it does not calculate your armor constantly (or when ever you get hit)
but only when the skill is activated!

    see video below

    ice_video_20190501-130753.webm

as you can see in the video, i activated the skill when i had my gear on and a armor value of 7800
then i took my armor off and started getting hit, you can immediately notice that i still get 0 damage although my armor is 0
that because the skill got activated when i had armor
but the moment i activate the skill again, it calculate my new armor value, which is 0 and i get hit constantly to death
    without getting the 0 damage

this information can be really useful to know in a lot ways

first of all be sure to activate the skill when your armor is at its highest value
like when you are effected by shaman earth protection
or when you are under the effect of scrolls and potions
use skill aura of hatred then dark shield for extra protection is also useful

another cheesy strategy is to have PvE gear then use dark shield then switch back to PvP gear
giving that your PvE gear give more armor, making the skill more useful although your armor not as high

    one last thing
make sure to not reactivate dark shield without making sure your armor is at its highest
as activating the skill again will reset the buff with the armor new value

this is it for death knight Dark shield
be ready for the next thread where i will be talking about death call and how its useful in PvP
    Thanks for reading...

  6. Thanks
Ogull got a reaction from Khrone in About the skill Dark Shield
probably not, because its uses the total armor from defense tab
this should be said about 90% of skills description, new skills have better description but idk why old once aren't updated
  7. Haha
Ogull got a reaction from Khrone in About the skill Dark Shield
i talked about this way back in 2019, topic below
but basically the skill calculate your armor and give you a buff that reduce damage ONCE ITS CASTED rather than every hit or real time

PS: i am glad you didn't give up on your dk

Ogull got a reaction from Speedom in Death Knight - Complete Skill Analysis and Mechanics (v9.3.0)
the skill is bad... but is it the worst the dk have? the answer is no. and that is the reason why i actually have saturation at 4/4

let me explain, as a dk who lost hope in his skills being useful for endgame content, i turned my head to the second thing a dk or a tank in general should focus on after skills, that is stats, and while most tank chose to go for more defense or more max health, i decided to go with defensive stats like parry and block and the reason for that goes back to the reason i chose to max out saturation

but before i say why, i wanted to ask you a question, what defensive stats do you think is the most broken? what stats allow damage classes to go dgs without healers or tanks?, what allow them to solo bosses? and also why is the horror event is the favorite among warspear players or the reason why most players have horror accessories equipped? the answer would naturally come to "steal health"
now what would you say about a class that gets 25% of that broken stats just by the press of a button? the only skill the death knight have that gives bonus to his stats is saturation(not counting reserve)

now going back to why i chose to max THAT skill, the reason why is simply because getting 25% saturation will let me ease out on life steal accessories and life steal enchant and instead chose accessories with defensive stats, getting rings with block, enchanting my cape with parry instead of life steal, and overall increase my tankness through defensive stats, that would leave me at a low ls amount (i only have 15% life steal) but because of the skill i reach 40% while keeping high stats for my death knight

now said all that, the skill.. like you said... sucks, having cooldown being double the duration means that even with 100% cd you can't perma-use the skill(counting in cast animation ..etc), and that because of its 10% health cost it becomes useless when you needs it the most... when your health gets low, and just can't afford to lose that 10% health when you are already low. that's why a good dk friend of mine told me "all dk skills are bad, you just chose the least bad among them", this is just my way of playing dk and looking at the class, it might not working with everyone

i am amazed at how this class preform well in PvE, its capabilities to recover damage, its skills to absorb/reduce damage while at the same time buff the team and be a support and a tank, really such a strong class... that or i am over evaluating it because i am a death knight

this is interesting, i didn't think about the idea of damage reduction increasing scared shield longevity, with the 32 armor set... really this skill get more impressive the more i know about it

Use this skill to reset your enemies attack sequence and confuse them can be crucial in arena
Tip1: use it 1v1 to reset your enemies attack and activate relics
Tip2: use it in war of map2 to rest your enemies attack on flag
Tip3: use it to aggro enemies who can go invisible
Tip4: use it in 2v2 to save your partner if the enemy attacking him
Tip5: not to be used in group wars or GvG
     Heavenly Light 3/5
Use this skill to heal yourself or your allies in time of need, most effective with magic build setup
Tip1: if using magic items, use this as much as possible to support yourself and your allies especially in arena

make sure you use only 10 skill points on base skills leave other points for expert skills

     Illumination 1/4
Deals Magic damage to enemies in a small AoE, best combined with stun or life steal stat
Tip1: equip stun weapon and stun buffs and use this skill non stop to stun your enemies and reset their attack sequence
Tip2: mostly used for its possibility to stun enemies in an AoE and make them lose aggro on your allies
Tip3: if enemies are far Harrad's Call > Fetter > Illumination

     Harrad's Banner 1/4
Use this skill before entering the battlefield but take care enemies can run from it so be sure to use it wisely (doesn't trigger any stun stat)
Tip1: can be used also in a tricky way to kite your enemies leaving it behind you so they get delayed to follow you
Tip2: in 1v1 use it before enemy can reaches you
Tip3: use it after Fetter so enemy cant run from it
Tip4: use it before you or your allies cast any other damage spells to increase their damage output on enemies

     Sun Seal 1/4
Basically useless not used skill in war or 1v1 hardly it will consume your mana and time to use it better focus on other skills in hotkey
Tip1: in 1v1 use it to increase life steal on enemies
Tip2: use it before using Shield Strike to heal a fixed % of your max hp

     Harrad's Call 1/4
Can be maxed for better % stun chance and better damage but at level 1 still effective and better use skill points elsewhere
Tip1: use it to run from or towards enemies

Tip3: use Fetter always after it
Tip4: use it to initiate a fight in 1v1 vs ranged enemy
Tip5: use it to initiate any arena fight or after Harrad's Banner

Shield Strike 4/4 for 1v1 only, other than that 1/4
for 1v1 this is crucial to stun your enemy for longer period of time and it increases the % of hp recovery if combined with sun seal
Tip1: use it to initiate a fight in 1v1 vs melee enemy than run towards them for 0.5 second than cast Fetter
Tip2: use it after Fetter is about to end to maximize your disable to enemy
Tip3: push enemies away from yourself or your allies

Sacred Shield 1/4 for 1v1 only, other than that 4/4
this is basically best support skill paladin has in a non 1v1 fight, it cant be used on yourself, only on allies or minions if level 3 or above the paladin will receive a shield also
Tip1: the more max hp you have the more effective it is
Tip2: use it to initiate a fight anywhere
Tip3: use it when paladin has low hp, the lower the hp the better only if paladin has Inner Force, because it reduces damage deal and making shield last longer
Tip4: cannot be used in 1v1 fair fight because you need a minion or someone to cast it on to receive a shield on yourself also its powerful in 1v1
Tip5: use it after using Paladin's Prayer on ally to make it more effective
Tip6: in a 2v2 arena fight must initiate the fight with it and use it whenever possible before any other skill

     Light Defense 1/4
can use it anytime you want to increase your party % physical/magic defense
Tip1: best used in full party early before meeting enemies by 5 second

     Paladin's Prayer 4/4
can be used in early fight if you know the enemy going to deal heavy damage on you or your ally in next 4 seconds or can be used after receiving few hits, the early the better so can recast more of it later on
Tip1: in a 1v1 the early use of it the better but in a team fight save it to see who in your party is dying and heal them

Inner Force 4/4 (Passive no animation)
if your looking for survival and tank mode this is the best skill to survive at the lower the hp you have, sometimes few points matters between winning and losing a match or a war

     Harrad's Banner 3/4
Use this skill before engaging with mobs
Tip1: can be used also in a tricky way to kite mobs leaving it behind you so they get delayed to follow you

Best books for Paladin are defensive books:

Magical Toughening skill book - increases magical defense of the character by 20% and decreases incoming magical damage to a character from an auto attack by 10% when the current health is lowered to 30% when compared to the maximum
Physical Toughening skill book - increases physical defense of the character by 20% and decreases incoming physical damage to a character from an auto attack by 10% when the current health is lowered to 30% when compared to the maximum

Power of Life skill book - increases character's maximum health by 6% and health regeneration by 15%
Magical Protection skill book - increases numerical value of character's magical defense by 10%
The Power of Blood skill book - increases character's and all party members' "steal health" parameter by 10% when party's combined health level is less than 50%
Distortion of Life skill book - Restores character's health by 150% of the damage inflicted by the enemy when the character is under the debuff "stunning" with a chance equal to the value of character's "steal health" parameter. However, this effect has a cool down of 2 seconds

I haven’t played for some time already and can’t say you all the numbers. But if dk has 401 magical damage, on 4/4 sharp shadow will strike 1400 according to your article. But I am not saying that you are wrong. I just wanted to make sure that there is no mistake there.Good guide by the way😇

If you want to be a DK capable to tank, forget the 2h build unless:
    1. You have got high life steal or
    2. You have got a Mermen Set for tank.

If you desire to be tanky somehow then I would send you a link from calculator about the build I think it's decent for a hybrid dk damager:

    https://wsdb.xyz/calc/en/295278

Skill wise: I'd go for 4/4 Call, 3/4 Sharp, 3/4 Curse and 3/4 Blood Protection. Switch call to 3 and sharp to 4 if you plan to PvP more than you do PvE.
  19. Thanks

good question, but you are asking the wrong guy

if i have to guess the reason, it would be because it would be broken, because the more you reach the 80% max physical resistance the more the skill will absorb damage, reaching the 1k damage absorb when triggered and even more

Ogull reacted to Phosphatase in Non-class skill books and what you should know about them - (Sauron, EU-Emerald)
Non-class skill books are expert skill books which any class can use. Although, unlike ordinary expert skill books, these skill books can not be upgraded. Most of them grant only small improvements but few of them are actually quite powerful. At the moment, there are 33 non-class skill books, 31 of which are passive and two that are active. Only requirements to use these books are character level 18 and empty expert skill slot. These books can be obtained by killing raid bosses, participating in guild events and completing dungeons during seasonal special events. Some books can also be obtained from physical chests that require special keys. Non-class skill books are more than rare but they are also worth of millions which means that if you ever happen drop one and sell it, you won't have to worry about gold for a while.

If you drop one of the passive skill books, you must decide, will you use it, sell it or trade it. It all depends on how much gold you really need. Everyone needs gold but do you feel like you are weak and can never buy any proper equipment due to the lack of gold? If so, then you should sell it as 2,5% stun or 3% critical hit chance won't really make you any stronger but good armor and weapon will. If you already have decent gear and you are not in the constant need of gold but your gear isn't +10, then you should think, will the book raise some parameter that you really need or can you even use the book properly? For example, Rampant Attack might not be the best choice for a druid and Secret Power of Vampirism might not be the most useful book for a character with 3500 hp. If the book is useful, then you can use it but if it's not, then you could either sell it for gold or trade it for more suitable book.

This is the end of this guide! I hope this will be useful at least for the winner of this contest.
