Hi Dev, admins, and players...I want to talk a bit about a difference between caster and melee classes in the way we build up to get our total damage characteristic. An elite Warlock has magic damage over 500 (with some over 600)
An elite Rogue has melee damage over 800 (with some over 1000)
I understand that difference, and it makes sense to me. But HOW casters get that damage is way different than how melee gets theirs. For a caster: 10 total eq slots, 8 of which must have magic damage as one of the stats. For melee 11 total eq slots (unless they use 2h weapon), only 5-6 of which generally have melee damage. This is because they get the bulk of their damage from their weapon(s). However, for the 5-6 pieces of gear that they wear that do not have to have melee damage, that slot can be taken up by something else useful (like dodge or attack speed or penetration, or w/e). For casters, only two pieces of gear do not have magic damage (head and feet), which means a difference of 3-4 pieces of gear that we have to have a slot in dedicated to magic damage, thus losing a slot for other useful stats. Thanks, and have a great day
