  1. The dark magic damage that spear has is equal to the mace dmg increase and astral foj/pur combo. The damages are about equal. But no doubt, eu-emeralds 2hand dk are far more powerful than us-saphires.

  3. Sorry buddy. This topic is about shield tanking (meaning the boos is attacking with melee attacks). Dark magic is not a subject here.
  4. Not gonna happen. Pala has a healing buff, so healers of the same lvl/amp (priest vs. necro), pala wins. Palas aura buff increases healing effects by up to 25%. There is no way a necro-dk could outdo a priest and a pala in tanking. Dk can't undo damage, and dk has no critical def , pala can undo damage and has a crit heal. If the two can tank equally then pala wins because he gets crit on his skills. Dk doesnt get crit on his def skill lmao. So now heal puts pala over the edge. I thought heal was a "small heal". I'm confused. You have no idea the advantage pala has when crit healing is involved. Pala can kill a high lvl dk and still have over 2000 life from crit healing. It is truely sad but true. Here is something that always happens to me in arena. I finally got it on video. Check it out. this was yesterday. The power of crit healing. The shaman was healing him at full life, I had no life, but 1 crit heal changed everything, imagine 2 crit heals. http://youtu.be/4R9VayRPPHY The propability of a dk out tanking a pala is not realistic. Pala can out live any melee class. Dk can survive a long time but he cannot regain life.
  5. Well, 2x +10 doom blades aren't enough, if the rouge knows how to use his skills right then he will have a fair chance at winning. Simple as that. If 2 players of the same amp and skills are battling then it comes down to skills/tactics. Who ever has the better tactics against the other will win more. But keep in mind, every second the situation changes, new tactics become available that weren't 2 seconds ago. Response to a situation is also important (how long does it take your brain to weigh the options and execute). Then their is prediction based the current situation. Sometimes it's easy to predict what a rouge is going to to do. Anyways, the wins are fair for the most part. If you want to know, ask sulla, or mercurial.I have pvp'ed with them many times. The wins are fair. In fact I think all classes with the -same amp and know how- have an equal chance at winning. And about stun. pala has a stun that doesn't just keep the *****er in place. Its a rouge radar stun, that can find the ****ers too. But sometimes after they gouge me and go stealth, I will count , and right before his stealth runs out, he heads back to attack me, and just before he gets to me :bomb: yellow smoke. Its not rocket science. Sometimes rouge is helpless, the are too predictable.

  7. Most paladin players are confused about pala. Is pala a support class, can pala keep up in pvp, pala is a noob class. Pala is too down played by other classes. Many paladins have started to give up on pala (from what I have seen in eu-emerald). And I'm tired of it. So I'm speaking up. Same goes for mage. I know what people say/said about mage. But the truth is mage can be killer. I want to change these class stereotypes. Cheers bro :drinks:

  9. Well Uh!!.. I happen to like 2x2 :'( and trains. I understand the point you guys are making, and your right it would give a better chance to many different kinds of players. But wouldn't it be unfair to players that go 2x2 or 3x3 and win? Shouldn't all victories/wins be given the same point value?
  10. I hear you bro, but I still don't see how this suggestion could increase better or more effective teamplay in the battles. Your saying that giving more points will create more team efforts. Im really confused here. Maybe i dont understand what you are saying. Sorry But onto another note. If you get more points for killing then wouldn't everyone use all of their arena tickets for 5x5? So no one would care to go 2x2 or 3x3, because you could take a chance in 5x5 getting far more points with 1 ticket. 5x5 would be over loaded and warlocks/rangers would be at the top of the charts. I don't agree with this idea.

  13. Dude, when players go into arena I don't think they have much time to talk about which player they want to kill first lmao, have you ever been in arena before. Blue is right because a team is a single entity, therefore if a team wins the points are rewarded to those players that had combined efforts in the game. If a team looses they get the minimum loosing points. It boils down to combined efforts. Besides, the sound of winning tastes better than killing.

  15. I think everyone here understands your frustration and the point you are making but , how your going about it is childish. No need to talk like that on the forum or in the game. Find a way to not use bad words but still show your angry and frustrated.
  16. I think dk is pretty effective using shield in pvp/arena. But I would think dk is better with a sword not an axe. And I think this because of the abyss zealots chopper (chopper maybe being related to barbs chop skill). That's how I see it. I don't think pala is very effective in using a 2hand hammer or axe for pvp. Pala is better with a shield for pvp and dk is better with a 2hand spear for pvp. But Bloodylips is really good with a shield, he makes it work. In fact sometimes that's what it comes down too, making it work. On eu emerald many say shield and mace is for noob, but I have changed the way people see pala because I made/make it work. Shield bearing takes a lot of skill practice, your attack is no match for high attacking classes/builds you have to make it work. There are still things undiscovered, some play on a surface level and its enough to get by and win, but some digg deep into there classes and find new interesting, tactical advantages. Its true. One name I might mention is sulla. Dude has a new pvp tactic for every new one I come up with. He knows rouge better than any, that's for sure, he never does the same thing, and responds like he can see the future.

On both sides wins have been fair. I'm just not going to post a video of me dying. Again no disrespect to any players in this video. Thanks for your understanding. IF YOU FEEL OFFENDED IN ANY WAY, LET ME KNOW AND I WILL REMOVE THE VIDEO FROM THE FORUM. The battles against hassn, I cleared his stun range and his stuns failed. This gave me the upper hand in the battle. In the battles against rouges I find it most effective to immediately implement fetters---(purify>>heal within feters duration) for maximum heal skill usage. I only do this combo when against a hard opponent.
  18. This topic is about using a shield and tanking, not pvp. Dk cant use a shield and spear at the same time lmao. And besides 2hand attacks every 3.2 seconds, mace at 2.4. Damages are equal. Not to mention foj.pur combo. And factor in the added shield stats and def.
  19. Things to watch out for when pvp with rouge. Rouge may go stealth before that battle even begins. If you are a bd you may be out of luck unless you ham immediately and stun him before he goes stealth. If you are pala and rouge goes stealth you should immediately fetters. You know what do after that. If rouge signals for pvp but he is at a distance, be ready for the possibiliy of stealth. If rouge signals me from a ranged class distance I dont signal back. My decision. Choose your battles wisely. Keep in mind. Most smart rouges will power attack right before gouge (i think). You can delay/stop this by stunning when you see the power attack (purple pop) :good: correct me if im wrong about any of this. thanks
  20. Pala, how many times have you tried to heal just before the enemy hams/charges/threads you and its to late. Well it happens to me sometimes. Its important to heal during the fetters duration. In pvp your first move sets should be aura for signal, fetters-purify-heal (during fetters the enemy will have already attacked you enough for heal to be effectve). If this sequence is followed correctly when fetters is done you will still have full life and the enemy will have obsorbed your purify and the astral damage. I know not every battle goes down like this but you should try to squeez as many heals into one pvp battle. Try to heal during fetters to avoid any stun interruptions. Pala doesnt have outrageous attack power like barb or dk, but pala has decent attack power and high survivability. It is possible to undo as much as 2000 damage in one pvp battle. Try for it. This post is only for 1hand pala, and pur.5 , foj.5 , heal.5 is recommended.
  21. Pvp pala/bd vs. barb. Before the battle begins, barb (a smart barb) will stand at a certain range from you so that he can get the first stun (charge). So, after he signals do not immediately signal back, instead begin charging/walking toward him and signal on the way. If you immediately signal back after he signals he will charge. The goal is to signal back after you have cleared the charge range. Dont let barb get distance. Ill post a video link so that you may see what I mean.
  22. This is true. But when tanking how can a dk support or protect other party members. Tanking is all about obsorbing damage and keeping party members alive. So maybe pala and dk are equal in soloing bosses, but dk has no support skills. A party can only rely on dk to tank. But a party can rely on pala to tank and support (heal, control mobs, increase healing effects). Pala can do the same as dk and more.
  23. Love the song, love the vid bro, really cool. I have never seen the forsaken lands, its all dark and freaky looking. I think I want to try dk, looks like a whole new game. Also, can you solo a boss on the second island? One with at least 40k life? Also, try hypercam 2, its free and no adds on your videos, but i'm not sure if its as smooth as the one your using.
  24. The topic of this thread is "using shield, who is the better tanker, pal or dk?". Bottom line, paladins is most powerful with 1hand mace and shield (mace has astral and only pala can weild 1hand mace), dk is most powerful with spear (spear has dark magic, and only dk can wield spear). This says it all. And there is one thing we are missing here. 1hand mace has more base damage than any other 1hand weapon. So pala can do the same amount of damage and even more. After looking at all the information here, and its good from both sides, my opinion still rests with pala. Because pala can undo damage, dk can't. And pala has party friendly skills, dk doesn't. You are more likely to survive longer hunting/tanking with a paladin.
  25. Its like your reading my damn mind :crazy: :friends: Everyone says and thinks pala sucks at pvp, and is only a support class. But you and I know that shit aint true, sange knows too, hes my pvp buddy :friends: . Dk definitely better with a spear for pvp. If pala can solo bosses then he definitely a better shield tank than dk. Even with fetters, control surrounding mobs, save healers life all while tanking. Thats key. Being a tank means obsorbing damage and keeping your party members alive. Dk's skills are not support skills, they are all self (dk) benifited skills. On the other hand all of pala's skills can be used to benifit the entire team. Aura buffs all healing on all party members, heal can be used on other party members (not just pala), and fetters doesnt just stun a single enemy but a whole area of mobs. Pala is 100% more effective in shield tanking than dk.
